Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Tuesday, August 1st:

Detroit Tigers at Pittsburgh Pirates (-125, 9)

Riley Greene comes into this game after having gone Over 1.5 total bases in back-to-back games, and he has also done so in five of his last seven. Greene is now batting .307 with eight homers and 24 RBIs this season, and the 22-year-old is dangerous against right-handed pitching. Tonight, Greene gets a crack at a mediocre righty, as the Pirates are sending Johan Oviedo to the mound. Oviedo is just 4-11 with a 4.60 ERA this season, and he has had 10 starts this season in which he has given up at least six hits.

With Oviedo being so hittable, it’s just hard not to back Greene to stay hot at the plate and come through with an extra base hit or a couple of hits. Greene has always been a player that people have been excited about, but the future is now for him. He has been one of the best hitters for Detroit all season long, which is why it’s surprising to see him at +160 odds to hit this number tonight.

Bet: Greene Over 1.5 Total Bases (+160)

Los Angeles Angels at Atlanta Braves (-250, 9)

Spencer Strider is one of the most exciting pitchers in the league, and the righty comes into this game after having reached double digits in strikeouts in each of his last four games. There’s no doubt that he’ll end up missing plenty of bats against the Angels, but will he do so without walking some hitters? Strider has gone five games without issuing two or more walks, but I think he’ll actually get himself into a little trouble in this game.

While Strider has been on point with his control lately, this Los Angeles team has the seventh-highest walk rate in the league. There are a lot of hitters on this Angels team that make pitchers work hard to get them out, and I think that’s going to get to Strider a bit here — especially as he continues to try and strike hitters out. It’s very impressive that Strider can hit double-digit strikeouts whenever he wants, but a lot of that comes with trying to fool hitters with pitches out of the zone. So he walks a fine line whenever he’s out there.

Bet: Strider Over 1.5 Walks (-105)

New York Mets (-155, 9.5) at Kansas City Royals

Zack Greinke is just 1-11 with a 5.49 ERA this season, but he actually has a 3.74 ERA in his 10 home starts. So, the veteran is a lot better when pitching in this stadium, so I don’t think it’s crazy to expect him to turn in a decent outing against a Mets lineup that isn’t all that inspiring right now. New York is a little hot coming into this game, but this lineup can go cold at any moment. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Greinke hits the three-strikeout mark in this game — a number that is extremely low, even for a pitcher with diminishing stuff.

Greinke only has two total strikeouts over his last two outings, but he has had at least three strikeouts in 15 of his 20 starts this season. This is a mark he has hit in 75% of his outings this year, and that makes it worth betting at -115 odds. This might be painful to watch, but it’s one to set and forget.

Bet: Greinke Over 2.5 Strikeouts (-115)
