Race 1 — $83K CLAIMING for fillies and mares, 3YOs & Up going 6 furlongs
Mr. Ed likes two to begin the early DD: #3 C’EST CHEESE (3-1 morning line) for trainer Whit Beckman, who returns coed to dirt and stretches her out. Big rider upgrade to Tyler Gaffalione. And #6 DANZIG’S DORA (2-1) for trainer Eddie Kenneally, who brings Jose Ortiz back to ride.
CHURCHILL DOWNS SELECTION: $5 Daily Double of 3,6/1,6. ($20)

Race 2 (1:14 p.m. ET/10:14 a.m. PT) — $120K MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT for 2YOs going 4 ½ furlongs 
To complete the DD, Mr. Ed’s betting on a pair of FTS: #1 BOOKED (7-5 morning line) for HOF trainer Steve Asmussen with Jose Ortiz riding, and #6 FANSHELL BEACH (9-5) for trainer Wesley Ward with HOF rider Johnny Velazquez. Either one of two for the money.

Race 3 (1:43 p.m. ET/10:43 a.m. PT) — $83K STARTER ALLOWANCE for fillies and mares, 3YOs & Up going a mile on the turf
Mr. Ed likes trainer Whit Beckman’s promising young sophomore #5 DADDARIO (6-1 morning line) with a huge rider upgrade to Flavien Prat. Filly moves to grass and stretches out. Gal has the look of a winner at a solid price.

Its two of three for Mr. Ed’s money: #1 FREAKS GO (6-1 morning line) for excellent trainer Rohan Crichton with popular young jockey Ben Curtis; #4 NO TIME LEFT (4-1) for Greg Foley barn with Tyler Gaffalione taking over reins, and #7 BELLE OFTHE DANCE (2-1) with blinkers added for Horacio De Paz and another rider upgrade to Irad Ortiz, Jr.

Race 5 (2:47 p.m. ET/11:47 a.m. PT) — $48K MAIDEN CLAIMING for 3YOs & Up going 6½ furlongs 
Mr. Ed chooses #3 JOE’S CANDY (7-2 morning line) for veteran trainer Al Stall, who attracts top rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. and adds blinkers. Expensive, promising gelding ships up from Fair Grounds and drops in class. A sweet victory for Stall stable.
