ATS Report for Thursday, July 20, on MLB, plus updated season-long betting stats

Thursday Betting Recaps

Thursday’s sports betting action was dominated during the early hours (espeically out here in Las Vegas) with the first round of the British Open (yes, I’m with my VSiN colleagues Bill Adee and Matt Youmans in preferring to call it that instead of “The Open Championship” or the even more arrogant “The Open”).

I’ll leave the golf recaps to my co-workers as we’ll stick here to our nightly MLB betting recaps, then update the season-long betting stats.

MLB: Favorites went 5-4 on Thursday with Brewers-Phillies closing pick-’em in the Brewers’ 4-0 win. The upsets were by the Orioles (+160 in 4-3, 10-inning win at the Rays as Baltimore took a 1-game lead in the AL East), White Sox (+145 in 6-2 win at Mets), Blue Jays (+104 in 4-0 win vs. Padres) and Cardinals (+103 in 7-2 win at Cubs). Road teams led 6-4. Unders dominated at 8-1-1 with the push in STL-CHC (9).

More MLB: On the season, faves lead 824-591 with 25 games closing pick-’em. Home teams lead 744-692 with 4 neutral-site games as road teams continue to cut into lead. Unders improved their slim lead to 694-685-60 with 1 no-action.
