NBA Best Bets Today – February 2

Phoenix Suns at Atlanta Hawks – 7:30 pm ET

After beating the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant noted that the Suns got back over .500 on their seven-game road trip. That speaks to how seriously this Phoenix team takes these games, and the Suns can clinch a winning trip with a win in Atlanta. Of course, the Hawks have a significant rest advantage here. They haven’t played a game since January 30. However, the Suns had a day off after the win in Brooklyn, and this team has looked tremendous lately. That makes it easy to lay the points here.

It’s just hard to ignore the fact that the Hawks are 27th in the league in adjusted defensive rating. This is one of the worst defensive teams in basketball, and they’re now tasked with slowing down one of the league’s best offenses. According to Cleaning The Glass, the Suns are scoring 131.5 points per 100 possessions when Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker play together. Well, the Indiana Pacers are first in the league in offensive rating at 121.9 points per 100 possessions. So, this Phoenix offense can be the best in basketball if it can just stay healthy.

The only issue is that the Suns can be hard to trust defensively, and the Hawks do have talent on offense. But Phoenix is 16th in the league in defensive rating over the last 15 games. As long as the Suns play league-average defense, they’re going to be one of the most difficult teams to beat. Well, they’re doing it right now, so they should handle one of the sloppiest teams in the NBA.

Atlanta is also a miserable 5-18 against the spread at home. Meanwhile, Phoenix is a good road team. That’s why the Suns are my only side for tonight’s NBA best bets.

Bet: Suns -3.5 (-108 – 2 units)

NBA Player Props Today – February 2

Miami Heat at Washington Wizards – 7:00 pm ET

Bam Adebayo is averaging 10.6 rebounds per game for Miami this year. However, the All-Star has turned things up a bit lately, as he’s averaging 12.0 rebounds per game over his last 20 games. Now, Adebayo faces a Wizards team that has the second-lowest rebound rate in basketball this year. And Washington is especially weak when it comes to defensive rebounding. That said, I think Adebayo is a guy that can help out quite a bit with tonight’s NBA player props. He’s a monster on the glass and should do some great work here. I wouldn’t be surprised if he brings down a bunch of offensive boards. Adebayo should flirt with 15 boards here. The only thing to worry about is a Heat blowout.

Bet: Adebayo Over 11.5 Rebounds (-120)
