*Philadelphia 76ers at Golden State Warriors (-3.5, 235.5)

Philadelphia was run off the court last night in Portland, but that was largely due to the absences of both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Both Embiid and Maxey have missed the last two games with injuries, and it is unknown if either will be available tonight in San Francisco. But, it might be worth taking a calculated risk with this matchup tonight.

Embiid was a late addition to the injury report on Saturday when the 76ers were set to face the Nuggets. After missing last night Embiid has now had five days off to rest a sore knee. Maxey is on a similar rest schedule, and was questionable yesterday before being ultimately ruled out. It would make sense that one, if not both, return to action tonight after such a long layoff.

Should Embiid return this line would swing in a big way. Golden State is 4-10 SU/7-7 ATS in its last 14 games. It has failed to cover by 5.3 points per game over that span. These are not two teams that are equals to one another when it comes to a power rating. But, this current number would tell us that it is the Warriors who are better.

Again, this is a massive risk so early in the day. Embiid could certainly miss this game as well, and I would be left holding onto a number that has no value without the presumptive MVP. However, the signs are there that Embiid and Maxey could both be back on the floor, and that is worth taking a chance on.
