Ravens vs. Jaguars Spread
The Jaguars have lost two games in a row and they now have a very difficult matchup with the Ravens in town. This Baltimore team is just better on both sides of the ball, as the team is second in the league in Defensive DVOA and fifth in Offensive DVOA. Meanwhile, Jacksonville is eighth in Defensive DVOA and just 16th in Offensive DVOA. Of course, home-field advantage should help even things up a bit. But I’m still having a hard time coming up with reasons not to lay this small amount of points with the Ravens.
For as good as it might seem like Travis Etienne Jr. is playing, the Jaguars haven’t been very efficient in the running game. Sure, Etienne is putting up big fantasy numbers and is a tremendous asset as a receiver out of the backfield, but Jacksonville is just 24th in DVOA when it comes to the running game. That’s going to spell trouble for the Jags, as the Ravens are a top-10 defense when it comes to stopping the run. However, Baltimore is also second in the league in Defensive DVOA against the pass, so this is also a tough matchup for Trevor Lawrence. Baltimore has a solid group of corners and can put pressure on the quarterback. So, Lawrence is going to have a hard time getting comfortable here.
Not only do the Ravens have an elite defense, but they’re also borderline unstoppable offensively. Lamar Jackson is coming off a game in which he threw for 316 yards with three touchdowns and also added 70 yards on the ground against the Rams. The 26-year-old is making a legitimate case for himself to be the MVP, and I just don’t see the Jaguars having much of an answer for him. This passing game has somehow survived the loss of star tight end Mark Andrews, and I don’t exactly see that changing — especially with Isaiah Likely being a good replacement. Baltimore can also pound away with Gus Edwards and Keaton Mitchell, giving this team a number of different ways it can win games. Jacksonville does have a very reliable defense, but Jackson’s improvisation skills make it hard to trust anybody to slow him down.
This is also the type of game in which John Harbaugh typically flexes his muscles as a head coach. Under Harbaugh, Baltimore is 65-47-6 against the spread when playing teams with winning records. The Ravens are also 21-9 straight-up and 17-9-4 ATS as road favorites of 3 or less under him.
Ravens vs. Jaguars Total
These are two very good defensive teams, but I’d rather play the Over than the Under here. Overall, it’s just hard to ignore that both of these teams come into this game after having gone Over in three of their last four games. The Ravens have scored at least 31 points in six of their last seven, too. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have scored at least 31 in four of their last eight. These are just two teams with playmakers scattered throughout their offenses, so big plays and successful scoring drives can be expected.
It should also be noted that these teams combined to score 55 points when they met in 2022. That was a high-scoring game and these teams have each added a lot of talent since then. With that in mind, I expect a similarly high-scoring game — even though the weather isn’t supposed to be all that great.
Ravens vs. Jaguars Player Props

Lamar Jackson Over 47.5 Rushing Yards (-114 – Play To Over 49.5 Rushing Yards)
Jackson is coming off a game in which he rushed for 70 yards. The star quarterback has now rushed for at least 50 yards in three of his last five games, and I think he’ll hit that mark against the Jaguars. This Jacksonville team has been very good defensively this year, so I expect the group to have a decent plan in place to try and make Jackson uncomfortable early on. But that could force Jackson out of the pocket, which is where he is most dangerous. That’s where I’m thinking Jackson will really get to this good Jaguars team, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he easily goes Over here.
Ravens vs. Jaguars Prediction
I actually really like this Jaguars team, but the Ravens are right there with the San Francisco 49ers when talking about the top teams in the NFL. So, I think it’s a little surprising that Baltimore is available as such a small favorite, even in a tough road environment. I just don’t think the Jaguars will be able to slow down the Ravens offense, and I also expect Baltimore to come up with key stops when needed. I’m actually adding this to my Week 15 NFL best bets.
