Three of the worst penalty killing teams in the league are in the action on Sunday. The Arizona Coyotes, Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks have given up the most power play goals in the league over the last month, each allowing one power play goal per game. Add on the fact that all three teams are on the road, and coming off losses on Saturday, and it looks like a good time to target some of the top power play performers in the NHL.

Best NHL Player Prop Bets for January 15th

Josh Morrissey Over 0.5 Power Play Points (+185)

Josh Morrissey ranks third on the Winnipeg Jets in scoring with 47 points in 43 games and third among defensemen in the NHL. Morrissey averages just over 23 minutes of ice time per game playing on the Jets’ top pair and quarterbacking the No. 1 power play unit.

Winnipeg’s power play has been among the best in the league over the last month, too, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when you consider that the top unit also includes Pierre-Luc Dubois, Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers, but Morrissey leads the way in terms of production.

However, even though Morrissey has been logging more minutes and producing more points on the power play than Connor, Dubois and Scheifele, those players have better odds of scoring a point.

Sunday’s game against the Coyotes is a good spot to bet on Morrissey to score a power play point at +185. Arizona has taken the fifth-most penalties (per game) over the last month and only two teams (Vancouver and Montreal) have been worse on the penalty kill.
