NHL Best Bets
The Nashville Predators bet was a heartbreaker last night. It seemed like they had it in the bag before allowing two goals in six seconds to let a two-goal lead slip. Tonight will be a quieter night of play in the NHL since there are only three games, but it could get hectic with all of the trade talk. There’s only one game that I’m looking at for an NHL best bet.
Detroit at Colorado (-205, 6.5)
Over the last 10 games, both the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche have been averaging 3.60 goals per game. The Avalanche’s first line has been on a tear in this span. Arturri Lehkonen has tallied six goals with five assists, Nathan MacKinnon has added seven goals with 13 helpers and Mikko Rantanen has three goals of his own with nine assists.
For the Red Wings, Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane’s chemistry has picked up right where it left off in Chicago. In their last ten games, DeBrincat has five goals and five assists, and Kane has scored six goals and eight assists.
I think the Avalanche has the advantage in this game since the Red Wings haven’t been as consistent defensively lately. Detroit is allowing 3.10 goals against in the same 10-game span, and their penalty kill is clicking at 76%.
The Avalanche have won three out of four games and scored five goals in each of those three wins. The Red Wings have lost back-to-back games, so they should be a little hungrier to snag two points.
Kane has helped the Red Wings be successful in the 30 games he’s played this season, and he will need to step up for Detroit tonight. Kane has had 12 shots in his last five games. On the other end, MacKinnon should have a big impact in this game like he does every night, especially at home, where he has registered a point in all 30 home games this season. MacKinnon has tallied 22 shots on goal in his last five games.
I’m looking for the stars to show up tonight.
