UPDATE: Matthew Tkachuk is out for Tuesday’s Game 5.

Injury concerns loom over Tkachuk as Panthers face elimination in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final

The status of Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk remains uncertain after their Game 4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Tkachuk played limited minutes and appeared to be struggling during the game, skating only a few shifts in the third period. Coach Paul Maurice did not disclose the specifics of Tkachuk’s issue and did not confirm his availability for the next game. Tkachuk’s reduced ice time in Game 4 was the second-lowest he has had in the playoffs.

The betting market has responded to the uncertain status of Tkachuk and the impact it could have on the upcoming Game 5 between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights. Initially, the Golden Knights opened as -150 favorites, considering the information available about Tkachuk’s injury. However, with the increasing uncertainty surrounding Tkachuk’s availability, the odds have shifted, and the Golden Knights are now favored at -175 or higher.

Despite Tkachuk’s limited ice time and obvious troubles in Game 4, the Panthers were good when he was on the ice, and he managed to register four shots on goal. However, sportsbooks are not currently offering limited player props for Tkachuk in Game 5 beyond first, last, and they aren’t offering shot props on many of the Panthers forwards. It’s unclear who will move up to replace Tkachuk if he can’t play, and it might be tough to capitalize on the news because of the lack of options.

Player Prop Bets to Consider

Mark Stone Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (EVEN) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Stone picked up two assists in Game 4, but he didn’t register a shot on goal on any of his four attempts. He had hit in five straight games before that, though. Stone is priced at -115 at a lot of shops, but DraftKings Sportsbook has him listed at even money and that’s a decent bet. Especially considering the Golden Knights had just one power play in Game 4 and they’ll likely get more than that at home in Game 5.

Bet: Mark Stone Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (EVEN) for 0.5 units
