NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are my NHL predictions and best bets for the series between the Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres.

Montreal Canadiens (-110) vs Buffalo Sabres (-110)

Game 1 – Wednesday, May 6

The Sabres and Canadiens met four times in the regular season, with each team winning twice, each team scoring 13 goals in the four games and both teams winning a game on the road. With the series at (-110) for both teams, it suggests to me that the Canadiens would be the favorite if they had home-ice advantage. I view this series as a coin flip and going a minimum of six games. For that reason, I will play both teams to win in six and seven games. On to the player series props. Buffalo’s Tage Thompson (three goals, four assists) led Buffalo in scoring versus Montreal in the regular season and was second only to the eight points by the Habs Nick Suzuki. Thompson’s seven points in round one were tied for the team lead with Alex Tuch in round one and he has 23 points in 20 career games versus the Canadiens. I will grab Thompson to lead the series in points. Lane Hutson has 11 assists in eight career games versus the Sabres. His four assists in round one were second to Nick Suzuki (5).

NHL Predictions and Series Bets:
Lane Hutson – most assists in the series (+400) – ¼ unit
Tage Thompson – most points in the series (+550) – ¼ unit
Alex Tuch – most points in the series (+900) – ¼ unit
Lane Hutson – most points in the series (+700) – ¼ unit
Buffalo Sabres to win series in 6 games (+500) – ¼ unit
Buffalo Sabres to win series in 7 games (+370) – ¼ unit
Montreal Canadiens to win series in 6 games (+400) – ¼ unit
Montreal Canadiens to win series in 7 games (+450) – ¼ unit
