Cameron Norrie vs. Novak Djokovic

Djokovic was able to beat Grigor Dimitrov in the Round of 32, but he needed three sets to do it. Djokovic also had some trouble with Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the Round of 64, so it’s pretty safe to say that the 22-time Grand Slam champion isn’t playing his best tennis right now. Of course, Djokovic is capable of beating most players when he’s not at his best. But asking him to do so in straight sets isn’t exactly fair, especially with Norrie having looked great in Rome thus far.

Norrie hasn’t yet dropped a set at this point in the tournament, and his 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over Marton Fucsovics was rather impressive. The lefty is now up to 25-9 on the season, and his 73.5% win percentage is the best of his career, by far. Norrie also happens to be 49-28 in clay-court matches at the ATP level now. So, while Norrie will tell you that clay isn’t his favorite surface, the numbers are starting to suggest that this might be his best. After all, he did beat Carlos Alcaraz in a final on the dirt earlier in the year.

With Norrie in great form right now, it just seems like a good idea to take him at plus-money odds to force a third set here. Norrie won a set off Djokovic at Wimbledon last year, when the Serbian was playing some of the best tennis of his career.

Bet: Norrie +1.5 Sets (+165)

Fabian Marozsan vs. Borna Coric

Morozsan is coming off one of the biggest upsets in tennis history, as he beat Carlos Alcaraz in the Round of 32. Alcaraz was the favorite to win the Italian Open, and he was also a -20000 favorite to beat Morozsan, who had to go through qualifying just to get into the main draw. It was a massive win for the Hungarian, who should now get to play in some more ATP-level events, rather than just Challengers. Having said that, it’s going to be tough for him to go out and beat Coric.

It can be hard to follow up a win as big as the one Morozsan earned, making this a prime letdown spot. But on top of that, Coric is just a rock-solid player in every aspect of the game, and it’s hard to envision Morozsan coming close to the level he reached on Monday. Everything was clicking for the Hungarian, including a drop shot that likely won’t be quite as accurate here. With that in mind, we’re not putting too much weight into what we saw on Monday, and we’re rolling with Coric to win somewhat comfortably.

Bet: Coric -2.5 Games (-155)
