Nitto ATP Finals tennis best bets: Holger Rune vs. Jannik Sinner – Thursday, November 16

There isn’t much time left in the 2023 tennis season, but the Nitto ATP Finals should help us go out with a bang. Eight of the ATP Tour’s top players are in Turin, Italy for this year-end event, including Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev. The players are split into two groups of four, and there will be round-robin play amongst the two of them. The players with the two best records in each group will go to the semifinals, where they’ll then compete in a single-elimination format for the final big prize of the year. With that in mind, I’ll be providing you with daily tennis bets for the next week, and that continues with my plays on Thursday, November 16.

Holger Rune vs. Jannik Sinner

Sinner is coming off the biggest win of his career, as he beat Novak Djokovic for the first time ever. Sinner was incredible throughout that match, showing off variety that he didn’t have a year ago. Not only was he pounding the ball and pushing Djokovic back, but he was also mixing in some nice displays of touch. However, Sinner is now in a letdown spot, as it’s going to be hard for him to match the energy he had the other day. And he’s also facing a player that is 2-0 against him in their two career matchups. Rune is also playing some good tennis right now, as he pushed Djokovic in two close losses over the last few weeks. And overall, I just trust Rune to give Sinner hell from the baseline, and I also think the Dane is a bit stronger than the Italian mentally. On top of all that, Rune can really use a win here. He still has a chance of emerging from this group and making the semifinals. But Sinner doesn’t have his back against the wall in the same way. So, I’m playing Rune to win a set. But I’m also taking the moneyline. All Rune needs is a little belief in order to swing this match in his favor. And these odds are just outrageous for two players that have been evenly matched their whole careers.

Bet: Rune +1.5 Sets (-150 –  2 units) & Rune ML (+255 – 0.5 units)

2023 Overall Record: 315-287 (+53.91 units)
