Tennis Best Bets for Tuesday, February 27

It feels like the tennis season never slows down, but that’s a great thing for bettors. This fantastic sport offers all sorts of betting opportunities, which is why I’m going to be providing you with tennis best bets as often as possible. This week, the ATP and WTA Tours will be in Acapulco, Dubai, Santiago, Austin and San Diego. I’ll scan through all of the tournaments to find some winners, so make sure you check out my stuff over the next week. Also, I’d strongly suggest coming back to this story throughout the day. I try to write up as many matches as I can in advance, but it’s hard to do that in an international sport. That said, I’ll be adding picks often. You can find those at the bottom of the story, where I’ll label them as “added plays.” I’ll also throw them on the Pro Picks page. So, keep reading for my tennis picks and predictions for Tuesday, February 27.

2024 Record: 99-104 (+7.01 units)

Arthur Cazaux vs. Lorenzo Musetti – Dubai

Cazaux went all the way to the Round of 16 at the Australian Open. The Frenchman is playing some fantastic tennis in 2024, and he’s undoubtedly in better form than Musetti. However, Musetti has more talent than 90% of the players in the ATP’s Top 100. He’s one of the most tremendous shotmakers in the sport, so he has a shot at playing high-level tennis whenever he’s out there. That said, I find it hard to lay off him at nearly +200 odds here. He’s arguably better than Cazaux from both wings. He simply needs to try and avoid making costly errors. I can’t guarantee he’ll do that, but I’m willing to sprinkle it at this number. There are better days ahead for the Italian.

Bet: Musetti ML (+180 – 0.5 units)

Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs. Yannick Hanfmann – Santiago

Hanfmann looked shell shocked in his straight-set loss to Mariano Navone in Rio de Janeiro last week. He has now lost three of his last four matches, and he just hasn’t looked comfortable on clay this season. With that in mind, I like the idea of taking a shot on Cerundolo at this price. The Argentine actually beat Hanfmann on hard courts in Winston-Salem last year, and he strongly prefers the dirt. That makes it hard not to view this as a match in which Cerundolo should have quite the edge. Hanfmann’s biggest weapons are his big serve and forehand. Those are neutralized a bit by the slower courts. And Cerundolo should have some confidence after going through qualifying without losing a set.

Bet: Cerundolo ML (+144)

Joao Fonseca vs. Thiago Agustin Tirante – Santiago

Fonseca won’t have the Brazilian crowd cheering him on this week, but I still like his chances. Fonseca is just brimming with confidence right now, as he earned two big wins in Rio last week. He also looked good in a three-set loss against Navone. Now, the rapidly-improving 17-year-old gets to face a very beatable opponent. In fact, Fonseca beat Tirante in straight sets on clay in 2022. And the two players have been going in opposite directions since. Tirante actually comes into this match after having lost three of his last four. And most of his career success has come at the Challenger level. This is just a great spot for Fonseca, who is clearly a high-level talent.

Bet: Fonseca ML (-130 – 1.5 units)

Caroline Wozniacki v. Anna Blinkova – San Diego

We haven’t seen Wozniacki since the Australian Open, but that was a solid tournament for the 33-year-old. She was on her way to cruising to an opening-round win before Magda Linette retired. Then, Wozniacki lost in a competitive three-set match against Maria Timofeeva. But overall, Wozniacki has played some decent tennis since returning to the tour. She’s still a very good defensive player from the baseline, and that makes it hard not to like her in this match. Blinkova has lost three of her last four matches and doesn’t have much confidence right now. So, Wozniacki can win this match by forcing Blinkova to hit a ton of extra balls. Blinkova can get sloppy and I see it happening here.

Bet: Wozniacki ML (-135 – 2 units)

Added Plays

Terence Atmane ML (+150) vs. Dominik Koepfer [Acapulco]

Aleksandar Kovacevic ML (+122) vs. Jordan Thompson [Acapulco]
