Anytime I have a chance to listen to professional bettor Rufus Peabody on VSiN — or in person, for that matter — I take it.
Rufus joined Gill Alexander, along with regulars Will Hill and Todd Wishnev, on the Super Bowl edition of the Beating the Book podcast.
Peabody first became widely known in the sports betting world for his Super Bowl prop wagers, an area where he consistently found inefficiencies before the broader market caught up.
These days, his approach looks a little different.
He’s no longer waiting in line at the Westgate for opening numbers. Instead, Rufus is more patient — letting the market develop, then stepping in later in the week to target mispriced props, alt lines, and scenarios where the probability of different game scripts isn’t being priced correctly.
If you have the time, his full appearance is well worth a listen. But here are a few of the Super Bowl prop angles Rufus has already circled:
➡️ Kenneth Walker unders
Rufus cited uncertainty around Walker’s usage, combined with the Patriots’ strong run defense.
➡️ Trayveon Henderson props
He raised the possibility that Henderson’s snap count rebounds relative to Rhamondre Stevenson, noting a wider range of outcomes than the market may be accounting for.
➡️ Three unanswered scores — Yes
Rufus recommends playing the “Yes” up to -170, pointing out that it occurs far more often than public intuition suggests.

Deadline day for NBA
The NBA trading deadline hits today at 3 p.m. ET today.
Zach Cohen is tracking all the deals and weighing their impact for bettors.
On the Warriors’ acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis: Acquiring Porzingis isn’t acquiring Giannis, but the Warriors added a good two-way contributor. If they can keep him healthy, he should make Golden State a much better team.
Zach’s Best Bets and Steve Makinen‘s Analytics Report will hit around mid-morning on our NBA page. And don’t miss Zach’s takes on the Hardwood Handicappers podcast.
