FireKeepers Casino 400:
For the first time in its history, the FireKeepers Casino 400 will not be held in the month of August. This year’s race at Michigan International Speedway takes place on June 8, as changes to the schedule, including the first annual NASCAR In-Season Challenge pushed the race a couple months earlier. The last two races have been impacted by rain, leading to a Monday finish. That does not appear to be an issue this week.
This is the 15th race of 26 scheduled for the regular season and there are 36 total races on the books, including the Cup Championship Playoffs.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings
No change at the top heading into Michigan, as William Byron still leads the field with 547 points. Kyle Larson remains in second with 499 points. Christopher Bell is third with 459 points. Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott are tied with 442 points, as Hamlin finished third last week and had the fastest lap.
Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, and Bubba Wallace are the guys rounding out the top 10. Blaney was the winner last week at Nashville. He was very likely to make it into the playoffs as a wild card thanks to points even if he didn’t win a race, but he’s locked in now that he has.
The race winners so far are Byron, Larson (3), Bell (3), Hamlin (2), Blaney, Chastain, Logano, Austin Cindric, and Josh Berry through 14 points races with 16 playoff spots in total up for grabs and nine taken by race winners as of now. That means some winners may not make it, if they don’t have enough points relative to other race winners.
FireKeepers Casino 400 Winners
Because Michigan is a once-a-year stop now and there has been a ton of driver turnover in recent years, there are only four active race winners among the last 10 starts at Michigan. Reddick is the reigning winner, with Blaney and Chris Buescher as other recent winners. Logano has also won here in the past and has the most laps led over the last 10 Michigan races with 234.
Martin Truex Jr. has not won here, but has the second-most laps led at Michigan with 143. Larson and Elliott also have over 100 laps led in the last 10 starts.
