Food City 500:
It’s time for short-track racing in NASCAR’s version of The Colosseum. The Food City 500 is the first of two stops at Bristol Motor Speedway for this season. The next one will be the annual Night Race during the Cup Series Playoffs in September. This one is a matinee with a 3 p.m. ET green flag, weather permitting, as this area of the country has been hit by a ton of rain and storms this spring.
This is the ninth race of 17 prior to the five-race inaugural NASCAR in-season tournament and there will be four more regular season events after that.
How to Watch The Food City 500

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings
William Byron did everything except win last week at Darlington. He won Stage 1 and Stage 2, led the most laps, and recorded the fastest lap, but he finished second to Denny Hamlin. Byron, who punched a virtually guaranteed playoff ticket with his win in the Daytona 500, still leads the field with 315 points and his 90 stage points are the most of any driver. Hamlin, who won for the second straight week, is second with 266.
Christopher Bell, who won three races in a row earlier this season, sits in third with 263 points. Chase Elliott (256) and Tyler Reddick (254) round out the top five, but neither has won a race to this point. Kyle Larson (244) sits in sixth and his win at Homestead-Miami is a big reason why. Ryan Blaney (236), Bubba Wallace (233), Joey Logano (232), and Alex Bowman (227) round out the top 10.
Food City 500 Winners
Bristol Motor Speedway has held two races per season since 1961. This race was held on dirt from 2021-23, but went back to the concrete surface last year. Hamlin won that race, while Bell, Kyle Busch, and Logano were the dirt track winners. Larson is the reigning champ of the Night Race, which Hamlin won in 2023 and Larson won in 2021.
Among active drivers, Kyle Busch has the most wins with eight, but he’s done that in 36 career starts. Hamlin’s four wins are in 35 career starts. The only other active drivers with wins are Brad Keselowski (3/27), Larson (2/17), Logano (2/29), and Chris Buescher (1/16).
