The Round of 16 is complete and we head into the Round of 12 in the Cup Championship Playoffs with the fourth playoff race of this season. The Hollywood Casino 400 presented by ESPN BET will be run on the tri-oval in Kansas City, Kansas is the second stop of the year at Kansas Speedway.
Kyle Larson won the race here earlier this year. Will he take the checkered flag again?

2024 NASCAR Cup Series Standings
Sixteen drivers qualified for the playoffs. Everybody’s counter was reset back to 2,000 and the bonus points accumulated during the regular season were then added to that total.
Now that we’re into the next round, the top 12 had their point totals reset to 3,000 and then the proper bonus points were applied.

The race winners in the Round of 16 were Logano, Chris Buescher, and Larson. Buescher was not in the playoffs, so he didn’t advance to the next round. Ty Gibbs, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr. and Harrison Burton were all eliminated.
2024 NASCAR Cup Championship Playoffs Format
There are 10 races in the playoffs, with the first nine grouped into sets of three. A win in one of those races automatically clinches a berth in the next set of races.
The bottom four drivers after each set of three will be eliminated from contention for the championship. Bonus points continue to matter and will be accumulated through the postseason.

Hollywood Casino 400 Winners
Kansas has been a twice-a-year stop since 2011. The AdventHealth 400 was on May 5 earlier this year. Active drivers to win that race are Larson, Hamlin (3), Kyle Busch (2), Kurt Busch, Keselowski (2), and Truex Jr.
As far as this race, which began in 2001, Reddick is the reigning champion. Bubba Wallace, Larson, Logano (3), Hamlin, Elliott, and Truex Jr. are the other winners.
