Hollywood Casino 400
The NASCAR Cup Series will be on the Kansas side of Kansas City, as the Hollywood Casino 400 takes place at Kansas Speedway this weekend. This is the second race of the Round of 12, so this is a big race for those who are looking to advance to the Round of 8. This is the second race of the season at Kansas, with the first happening back in mid-May.
That also means we only have six races left, as this is the 31st race of the season we are scheduled for 36, with the Championship Race at Phoenix on November 2.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings
The race winners so far are William Byron (2), Kyle Larson (3), Christopher Bell (4), Denny Hamlin (5), Shane van Gisbergen (4), Ryan Blaney (3), Ross Chastain, Joey Logano, Austin Cindric, Josh Berry, Chase Briscoe (2), Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Dillon through 30 points races. Blaney picked up his third win of the season last week, so he’s good to go for the Round of 8.
All remaining playoff drivers had their point totals set to 3000 and then bonus points accumulated during the season were then added. The bottom four in points of the playoff drivers will be cut from contention after each round of three races.
After last week’s Mobil 1 301, here are the playoff standings.
- Ryan Blaney 3084
- William Byron 3082
- Kyle Larson 3076
- Christopher Bell 3064
- Denny Hamlin 3062
- Joey Logano 3059
- Chase Elliott 3049
- Chase Briscoe 3047
- Ross Chastain 3035
- Austin Cindric 3028
- Tyler Reddick 3024
- Bubba Wallace 3020
Wallace, Reddick, Cindric, and Chastain are definitely up against it now, as the bottom four in points will be eliminated after next week’s race at Charlotte. Interestingly, Chastain did win this race last year. Reddick won it two years ago. And Wallace won it three years ago. So, while they are on the chopping block, they have hope.

Hollywood Casino 400 Winners
As mentioned, Chastain, Reddick, and Wallace are the last three winners in this race. The usual suspects had won the previous years, with Larson, Logano, Hamlin, and Elliott the first four years.
Larson is the back-to-back winner of the spring race. Hamlin won for the third time in that spring race back in 2023. Hamlin and Larson each have six top-five finishes in the last 10 starts at Kansas. Bell, Elliott, and Bowman have three top-five finishes in that span.
Steve Makinen’s Hollywood 400 Predictions
For the latest odds and VSiN’s NASCAR Best Bets, head to our NASCAR Hub to see Steve Makinen’s final simulation results and more stats on the drivers.
Per Makinen’s initial sim:
After one of the best simulations runs of the season this past Sunday at New Hampshire, where we hit the winner, four of the top 5, and 9 of the top 12, we move on to Kansas this week. Kansas is a little faster and more wild and has shown volatile swings of predictability from race to race, thus the handicap-ability grade of C. Kyle Larson sets up as a pretty decent favorite at the outset of the week as he has fared very well at Kansas and similar tracks recently. Christopher Bell, William Byron, Alex Bowman, and Denny Hamlin round out the initial top 5.
