Iowa Corn 350

The NASCAR In-Season Challenge and we’re back to normal for the Iowa Corn 350, just the second stop at Iowa Speedway for the Cup Series. The Xfinity Series has been a regular participant on the track, but the Cup Series started there last year. It is the third straight race on an oval track and we’ll go back to a road course next week at Watkins Glen.

This is the 23rd race of 26 scheduled for the regular season and there are 36 total races on the books, including the Cup Championship Playoffs.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings

A new winner claimed a playoff spot last week, as Bubba Wallace was victorious in the Brickyard 400. We still have the same driver at the top of the points list in Chase Elliott, who holds a four-point lead over William Byron. Kyle Larson is 11 points behind Byron and 15 behind Elliott after his second straight top-five finish. Similarly, Denny Hamlin followed up his win at Dover with a third-place result in Indy. He’s five points behind Larson and 20 points behind Elliott. Christopher Bell is in a distant fifth.

Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe, Alex Bowman, and Chris Buescher fill out the top 10, ranging from 655 points to 559.

The race winners so far are Byron, Larson (3), Bell (3), Hamlin (4), van Gisbergen (3), Blaney, Chastain, Joey Logano, Austin Cindric, Josh Berry, Briscoe, Elliott, and Wallace through 22 points races with 16 playoff spots in total up for grabs and 13 taken by race winners as of now. There are only four races left until the Cup Series Playoffs begin, so nearly all of the race winners are safe for playoff berths.

Iowa Corn 350 Winners

We only have one data point for this race, as Blaney won last year on the .875-mile track. Blaney also won Stage 1. Larson had the best qualifying time and won Stage 2 prior to finishing 34th.

The top five last year was Blaney, followed by Byron, Elliott, Bell, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. There were 17 lead changes featuring nine different drivers.
