Mobil 1 301

The NASCAR Cup Series will be putting the “loud” in Loudon, as the Mobil 1 301 takes place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend. The Sunday, September 21 race is the first in the Round of 12, as four playoff hopefuls have been chopped from contention. Stops at New Hampshire, Kansas, and Charlotte on the Roval make up the next set of races.

That also means we only have seven races left, as this is the 30th race of the season we are scheduled for 36, with the Championship Race at Phoenix on November 2.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings

The race winners so far are William Byron (2), Kyle Larson (3), Christopher Bell (4), Denny Hamlin (5), Shane van Gisbergen (4), Ryan Blaney (2), Ross Chastain, Joey Logano, Austin Cindric, Josh Berry, Chase Briscoe (2), Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Dillon through 29 points races. Bell picked up his fourth win of the season last weekend at Bristol and punched a free pass to the Round of 12. It was Bell’s first win since the first stop at Phoenix back on March 9.

All remaining playoff drivers had their point totals set to3000 and then bonus points accumulated during the season were then added. The bottom four in points of the playoff drivers will be cut from contention after each round of three races.

  • Denny Hamlin 3034
  • Kyle Larson 3032
  • William Byron 3032
  • Christopher Bell 3028
  • Ryan Blaney 3027
  • Chase Briscoe 3018
  • Chase Elliott 3013
  • Bubba Wallace 3009
  • Austin Cindric 3008
  • Ross Chastain 3007
  • Joey Logano 3007
  • Tyler Reddick 3006

The playoff drivers didn’t have much success in the last round. The remaining contenders collectively had nine top-five finishes, including the three wins between the 12 of them. There were more finishes outside the top 10 (21) than finishes inside the top 10 (15).

Bowman, Dillon, van Gisbergen, and Berry had their playoff dreams dashed.

Mobil 1 301 Winners

New Hampshire used to have two stops per season, but that is not the case now. This is the lone stop in Loudon on the 1.058-mile asphalt oval. The last season with two stops was back in 2017, so it has been a while, but it also means that most of the active drivers have limited data points.

This is the first time that this event will be a playoff race. Bell has two wins in the last three years and is the reigning champ. Martin Truex Jr. won in between, but his only race this season was the Daytona 500, where he finished 38th. Aside from Bell, Hamlin won back in 2017 and 2007. Logano won in 2009 and Brad Keselowski is a two-time winner here, with his most recent win in 2020. Kyle Busch is a two-time winner, but he has only had two top-five finishes in 29 starts this season.
