Pennzoil 400
Well, Tyler Reddick isn’t going to win all 36 races, as Ryan Blaney became the first driver other than Reddick to take down a NASCAR Cup Series checkered flag this season. The Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the first of two stops north of the Strip for this season, as the other race will be during Cup Series Chase playoffs.
This is the fifth race of 36 for the Cup Series season, which includes three road course races as mentioned, a street course in Coronado, a revamped playoff format, the second annual In-Season Challenge, and a whole lot of exciting Saturdays and Sundays for race fans and bettors.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Winners and Standings
Blaney has had some close calls this season and finally got to the winner’s circle. He leads the Cup Series in Stage points and now got his 55-point victory to close the gap with Reddick. Reddick is still well out in front with 225 points, 60 more points than Blaney. It was a tough outcome for Christopher Bell, who won Stage 2 and led the most laps prior to finishing second. Still, it was his second straight top-five finish as he seems to be getting locked in.
Through four races, Reddick, Blaney, Wallace, Chase Elliott, and Shane van Gisbergen are in the top five, while Bell, Joey Logano, Michael McDowell, Chris Buescher, and Kyle Larson fill out the top 10.
The postseason format has changed, as there are no rounds anymore and playoff points will not be awarded. The top 16 drivers in points will qualify for the Cup Series Chase and how they perform over the 10 races as a whole is how a winner will be decided. In other words, a win does not guarantee entry into the Chase like it would have in the past.
Pennzoil 400 Winners
Data points for Las Vegas Motor Speedway are in high supply, as this has been a twice-a-year since 2018. Larson has led 793 laps in his last 10 starts and has three wins in those races. In that span, Larson has six top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes. Denny Hamlin is also a multiple winner with four top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes in the last 10 races.
Logano is the other multiple winner in that span. William Byron only has one win, but he has four top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes. Alex Bowman only has nine starts, but has a win and three top-finishes, so he might be a guy to get on track here after a miserable start to the season.
