2026 Patriot League Conference Basketball Tournament Odds & Predictions

The Patriot League Conference Tournament is spread out over eight days and all games will be played on campus sites. Navy was far and away the best team during the regular season and the higher-seeded team hosts each game, so they should have home-court advantage throughout. Because games are played on campus sites, there are some significant gaps for off days in the schedule.

All 10 teams qualify for the conference tournament, but the bottom four teams all have to play in the first round, while the rest get automatic entry to the quarterfinals, which are on March 5.

Favorite To Win Patriot League Conference Tournament

With a massive gap in conference records between Navy and everybody else, Navy is the clear and obvious favorite. American beat Navy in the regular season, but beyond that, the Midshipmen were perfect. They were taken to overtime by Colgate and needed double overtime against Lehigh, but first-year head coach Jon Perry had a magnificent regular season with his team.

Navy hasn’t been to the NCAA Tournament since 1998, but they definitely have the best chance at securing the lone bid in this conference, as evidenced by their odds-on favorite price. The lone conference loss for the Middies came against American and that Boston vs. American game in the quarterfinals will dictate who Navy plays in the semis, barring a disastrous loss to Lafayette/Holy Cross.

Patriot League Conference Tournament Darkhorse

Even though we have an odds-on favorite here, the bottom half of this conference is so bad that we don’t really get a good number on the others in the mix. The reason why Navy was so much better than everybody else was on defense, where they were the best in the conference in 2P% defense by 0.7% over BU and best in 3P% defense by 3.4% over Loyola. So, the question is, do you look for a team with the best chance to shoot the ball well or maybe the team with the best chance to “ugly up” the game and win a rock fight.

Even though you’d really like to go to the other side of the bracket and avoid Navy until the finals, I do think Boston University has a decent chance. The Terriers lost 82-77 and 58-50 to Navy during the regular season, but did have one of the best offensive efforts against the Middies in that first game as far as conference play goes. They are ranked higher than Navy in both 2P% and 3P% offense.

Colgate makes some sense on the opposite side of the bracket with a weak No. 2 seed in Lehigh, but the price is hardly darkhorse-worthy and they lost four of their last five in the regular season, including both losses to Navy.

Betting Pick to Win The Patriot League Conference Tournament

Navy is more than 100 spots higher in KenPom’s rankings than any other Patriot League team. Torvik has the gap around 110 spots. Factor in home-court advantage throughout and this is absolutely Navy’s tournament to lose. It should also be noted that Navy was anywhere from -5.5 to -6.5 against Colgate at home in the regular season finale and that is the most likely title game opponent based on the odds and the draw, so that moneyline will be well north of the -120 price we see here.

Pick: Navy (-120)
