Central Florida vs. Cincinnati
Much of Cincinnati’s core will be playing in this game, while Central Florida will be without leading scorer and rebounder Keyshawn Hall. However, Central Florida will still look to push the pace. They lead the country in total possessions per game in contests played away from home. Meanwhile, Cincinnati is a low-tempo team, ranking 291st in possessions per game. However, in their previous matchup with Central Florida, Cincinnati showed they were willing to speed up the pace, winning 93-83.
Central Florida has allowed at least 75 points in 15 of its last 17 games and at least 72 points in all 17 of those games.
Picks: Cincinnati -5.5 and Over 152 (Greg’s Handicap: Cincinnati -8.5, Total 154.5)
9:00 PM Eastern
Chattanooga vs. UC Irvine
UC Irvine ranks fourth in the country in points per possession allowed away from home. They will face a Chattanooga offense that ranks 20th nationally in points per possession but averages 11.5 points per 100 possessions fewer away from home than at home. Chattanooga also sees its 38.8% three-point shooting percentage at home drop to 34.9% on the road.
Second-chance opportunities will be limited for Chattanooga, as they rank 302nd in the country in offensive rebound percentage.
Pick: Under 147 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 142)
9:30 PM Eastern
Villanova vs. USC
USC has much of its roster intact and should be able to exploit a Villanova defense that ranks 165th in points per possession allowed. Additionally, USC is well-equipped to limit Villanova’s primary offensive weapon. While Villanova ranks fourth in the country in three-point shooting percentage at 39.6%, USC holds opponents to just 30.6% from beyond the arc away from home.
Picks: USC +5.5 and Under 151.5 (Greg’s Handicap: USC +1.5, Total 149.5)
