Florida Atlantic vs. Florida International
6:30 PM ET
Florida Atlantic entered Tuesday ranked 10th in the nation in total possessions per game, but they also rank 215th in points allowed per possession. They now face Florida International, which ranks 350th in free throw attempts allowed per field goal attempt, allowing teams to average 25.7 free throw attempts per game.
Pick: Florida Atlantic vs. Florida International Over 155.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 163)
UW Green Bay vs. IU Indy
6:30 PM ET
UW Green Bay entered Tuesday ranked 351st nationally in rebound percentage and is struggling with 3-point shooting defense, ranking 333rd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage. Meanwhile, 40.6% of IU Indy’s points come from 3-pointers, the 26th-highest percentage in the country.
Pick: IU Indy +4.5 (Greg’s Handicap: IU Indy -1.5)
Ohio State vs. Maryland
6:30 PM ET
Ohio State’s impressive 44.8% 3-point shooting is unsustainable and should decline against a Maryland team that allows only 29.1% from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Maryland’s offensive surge will face its toughest test of the season against an Ohio State defense that ranks 21st in points allowed per possession.
Pick: Ohio State vs. Maryland Under 147 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 140.5)
Virginia vs. Florida
7:15 PM ET
Despite Tony Bennett’s departure, Virginia continues to play its trademark slow, methodical game, ranking last in the country in total possessions per game. The Cavaliers also allow the fewest free throw attempts per game and rank 24th nationally in 3-point shooting at 38.8%.
Pick: Virginia +16 (Greg’s Handicap: Virginia +10.5)
Alabama vs. North Carolina
7:15 PM ET
While this game is expected to be fast-paced, Alabama’s offense might struggle early. With Latrell Wrightsell out for the season and Chris Youngblood making his debut, the Crimson Tide’s offense may experience some disjointedness. They’ve made only 32.6% of their 3-point attempts this season, with Wrightsell’s 42.2% shooting leading the team.
Pick: Alabama vs. North Carolina Under 176.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 169.5)
Louisiana Tech vs. Memphis
8:00 PM ET
Memphis is shooting an unsustainable 46.9% from 3-point range, which rises to 55.3% at home. They will be tested by a Louisiana Tech defense that ranks 56th in points allowed per possession on the road. Additionally, Memphis struggles with turnovers, ranking 231st in turnovers per offensive play.
Pick: Louisiana Tech +12.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Louisiana Tech +7.5)
Idaho State vs. South Dakota
8:00 PM ET
South Dakota’s 3-point shooting has dropped from 37.6% last season to just 29.3% this year. Meanwhile, Idaho State continues to slow down games, ranking 306th in total possessions per game.
Pick: Idaho State vs. South Dakota Under 154.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 144.5)
Marquette vs. Iowa State
8:00 PM ET
Both teams are exceptional at forcing turnovers, with Marquette ranking 4th and Iowa State 10th in turnovers forced per possession. Iowa State also ranks 7th in points allowed per possession at home.
Pick: Marquette vs. Iowa State Under 152.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 147.5)
South Dakota State vs. Montana
9:00 PM ET
Montana is allowing opponents to shoot just 19% from 3-point range at home, an unsustainable percentage but a sign of their improved 3-point defense. They should get more clean possessions than usual against a South Dakota State team ranked 339th in turnovers forced per possession.
Pick: Montana +2.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Montana -2)
DePaul vs. Texas Tech
9:00 PM ET
Texas Tech leads the nation in points scored per possession, but this has come against one of the easiest schedules in the country. DePaul has the ability to match Texas Tech’s outside shooting, with DePaul shooting 41.2% from 3-point range and Texas Tech at 42%.
Pick: DePaul +14.5 (Greg’s Handicap: DePaul +10.5)
Oregon vs. USC
10:30 PM ET
USC has had early season struggles with a new roster of freshmen and transfers but should get extra scoring opportunities against an Oregon team that ranks 296th in allowing opponents to rebound 33.9% of their missed shots on the road.
Pick: USC +6 (Greg’s Handicap: USC +2.5)
