7:00 PM Eastern

Iowa State vs. Central Florida

Iowa State ranks 13th in the country in fewest points per possession allowed and 15th in most turnovers per possession generated on defense. Meanwhile, Central Florida’s defense allows 16.4 fewer points per 100 possessions at home than on the road. However, their offense drops significantly at home, ranking 264th in points per possession compared to 39th in a road or neutral court setting.

Pick: Under 158.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 155.5)

Florida vs. Mississippi State

Florida is dealing with an injury to starting guard Alijah Martin, who is second on the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game. This is a major setback against a Mississippi State team that routinely wins the battle for cleaner possessions. Mississippi State ranks 36th in fewest turnovers per possession committed on offense, 60th in turnovers forced per possession on defense, and 34th in offensive rebounding percentage.

Pick: Mississippi State +2 (Greg’s Handicap: Mississippi State -1)

Utah vs. Cincinnati

Cincinnati plays at one of the slowest paces in the country, ranking 302nd in total possessions per game, and they are also strong defensively, ranking 27th in points per possession allowed. Meanwhile, Utah struggles offensively on the road, scoring 21.4 fewer points per 100 possessions away from home. A late-game fouling scenario could be problematic for both teams, as Utah ranks 358th in free throw percentage and Cincinnati is 344th.

Pick: Under 139 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 134.5)

Syracuse vs. Miami

Miami has been one of the worst defensive teams in the country, ranking 361st in opponent 3-point shooting percentage and 356th in overall points per possession allowed. Under their interim coaching regime, Miami has won just one game straight up. Syracuse should have an advantage inside, ranking 71st in rebounding percentage, while Miami sits at 247th.

Pick: Syracuse +1.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Syracuse -5)

8:00 PM Eastern

UCLA vs. Illinois

Illinois ranks ninth in the country in fewest points per possession allowed at home, while UCLA is 16th in defensive points per possession allowed and leads the nation in turnovers forced per possession. Both teams struggle from beyond the arc—Illinois ranks 314th in home 3-point shooting at 30.1%, while UCLA is 154th overall at 34%.

Pick: Under 150.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 147.5)

Arizona vs. Kansas State

Kansas State’s season-long metrics don’t compare favorably to Arizona’s, but the Wildcats have found their rhythm after a rough 7-11 start. They have won five straight games, with Dug McDaniel dishing out 37 assists in that span. Defensively, they’ve held opponents to 70 points or fewer in all but one game. Arizona, which ranks 27th in points per possession overall, sees that number dip to 50th in road or neutral settings while shooting just 31.4% from three away from home.

Pick: Kansas State +3.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Kansas State -2)

9:00 PM Eastern

North Texas vs. Rice

North Texas plays at the second-slowest tempo in the country, ranking 363rd in total possessions per game. Their defense is elite, ranking 14th in points per possession allowed away from home. Rice ranks 71st in opponent 3-point shooting percentage and 111th overall in defensive points per possession while playing at a relatively slow pace, ranking 246th in possessions per game.

Pick: Under 126.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 122.5)

11:00 PM Eastern

San Diego State vs. San Jose State

San Diego State ranks 10th in the country in opponent 3-point shooting percentage away from home (27.9%) and allows the fifth-fewest points per possession nationally. However, their offense ranks just 241st in points per possession. San Jose State’s 3-point shooting percentage actually declines at home (34.4%) compared to their road mark (37.7%).

Pick: Under 137.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 132.5)

Colorado State vs. Utah State

Utah State ranks 24th in offensive points per possession and 31st in turnovers forced per possession at home, which could pose problems for Colorado State. The Rams struggle to create second-chance opportunities, ranking 274th in offensive rebounding percentage on the road, and they also shoot just 29.8% from three in away games.

Pick: Utah State -6 (Greg’s Handicap: Utah State -9.5)
