Virginia vs. Pittsburgh

Virginia is playing at the slowest pace in the country in total possessions per game while ranking just 218th in points per possession. Pittsburgh ranks 90th in points per possession allowed on defense and should hold down a Virginia offense that is 340th in road 2-point shooting percentage.

Pick: Virginia vs. Pittsburgh Under 133.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 129)

Alabama State vs. Florida A&M

Alabama State is seventh in the country in fewest turnovers per possession on offense and faces a Florida A&M team that ranks 337th in points per possession allowed and 350th in points per possession on offense. Florida A&M also allows teams to rebound 33.1% of their missed shots, ranking 341st in defensive rebound percentage.

Pick: Alabama State -2 (Greg’s Handicap: Alabama State -5)

Alabama A&M vs. Bethune-Cookman

Alabama A&M ranks third in the country in possessions per game but is 280th in points per possession allowed and 358th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage. Bethune-Cookman will likely find themselves in a free-throw-heavy game, as Alabama A&M ranks 14th in the country in most free throw attempts allowed per possession on defense. Additionally, Alabama A&M allows opponents to rebound 39.9% of their missed shots in road games, ranking 362nd in road defensive rebound percentage.

Pick: Alabama A&M vs. Bethune-Cookman Over 140.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 144)

Incarnate Word vs. McNeese

McNeese ranks 47th in the country in points per possession allowed and forces a turnover on 25% of defensive possessions at home, which ranks fifth in the nation. Incarnate Word plays at one of the slowest paces in the country, ranking 318th in total possessions per game.

Pick: Incarnate Word vs. McNeese Under 142 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 137.5)

Stephen F. Austin vs. New Orleans

New Orleans ranks 348th in the country in points per possession on offense and 346th in points per possession allowed on defense. Meanwhile, Stephen F. Austin compensates for its 360th-ranked offense in points per possession with a strong defense, ranking 35th in points per possession allowed. They also rank 28th in turnovers per possession and 43rd in road rebound percentage.

Pick: Stephen F. Austin -4.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Stephen F. Austin -8.5)

North Texas vs. UAB

North Texas ranks 362nd in total possessions per game but is efficient offensively, ranking 74th in points per possession and 55th in 3-point shooting percentage. UAB, on the other hand, is 19th in points per possession on offense but struggles on defense, ranking 223rd in points per possession allowed. These teams met earlier in the season on December 31, with UAB winning 78-75.

Both teams are among the best defensive teams in the country, with Iowa State ranking 13th and Kansas 17th in points per possession allowed. Kansas, however, ranks just 80th in points per possession and plays at a mid-tempo pace at home, ranking 200th in possessions per game.

Pick: Iowa State vs. Kansas Under 145 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 138.5)

Northern Colorado vs. Idaho State

Idaho State ranks fifth in the country in rebound percentage at home and 11th overall in this category. Northern Colorado struggles defensively, ranking 262nd in points per possession allowed, and has a poor road 3-point shooting percentage of 29.9%, which ranks 294th in the nation.

Pick: Idaho State +1.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Idaho State -2.5)
