11:00 AM Eastern
Merrimack vs. Sacred Heart
Merrimack is one of the slowest teams in the country, ranking 357th in total possessions per game. Meanwhile, Sacred Heart has surprisingly shot much worse from three-point range at home than on the road, making just 32.7% of their three-point shots at home compared to 39.9% in road or neutral court settings.
Pick: Merrimack vs. Sacred Heart Under 142.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 135)
6:00 PM Eastern
Kent State vs. Buffalo
Kent State has been one of the most formidable mid-major defenses in the nation, ranking 22nd overall in points per possession allowed and sixth in road or neutral court settings. Buffalo, on the other hand, ranks 304th in points per possession on offense, 338th in points per possession allowed on defense, and 345th in rebound percentage at home.
Pick: Kent State -10 (Greg’s Handicap Kent State -13.5)
7:00 PM Eastern
Mount St. Mary’s vs. Manhattan
Mount St. Mary’s ranks 338th nationally in turnovers per possession and 301st in points per possession in road or neutral court games, despite ranking 31st in opponent three-point shooting percentage on defense.
Pick: Mount St. Mary’s vs. Manhattan Under 151.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 144.5)
Iona vs. Fairfield
Iona is 360th in the country in turnovers per possession, while Fairfield ranks 50th in the same category. Although Iona is 50th in overall rebound percentage, Fairfield is better at limiting opponents’ offensive rebounds. Fairfield ranks 194th in defensive rebound percentage compared to Iona’s 227th, allowing opponents to rebound 31.2% of their missed shots in games away from home this season.
Pick: Fairfield +1 (Greg’s Handicap Fairfield -2.5)
Minnesota vs. Wisconsin
Minnesota is one of the slowest teams in the country, ranking 333rd in possessions per game. Their defense travels well, as they rank 77th in points allowed per possession. However, they have the worst road three-point shooting percentage in the nation at 15.4% and rank 358th in free throw shooting at 61.8%.
Pick: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Under 142.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 137)
Mercyhurst vs. St. Francis PA
Mercyhurst ranks 324th in points per possession on offense and 299th in points per possession allowed on defense. St. Francis PA, with a 33.7% three-point shooting rate, should be particularly lethal on Friday, as Mercyhurst is 331st in road three-point shooting defense, allowing teams to make 38.5% of their three-point attempts.
Pick: St. Francis PA -2.5 (Greg’s Handicap St. Francis PA -7)
Long Island vs. Stonehill
Stonehill ranks 33rd in the country in home three-point shooting percentage at 41.1% and 79th in points per possession at home. However, they are 305th in points per possession allowed in home games entering Thursday.
Pick: Long Island vs. Stonehill Over 133.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 138.5)
