6:00 PM Eastern
Lafayette Leopards vs. Pennsylvania Quakers
The Lafayette offense ranks 273rd in points per possession, and the defense has been even worse, ranking 295th in points per possession allowed. Pennsylvania has had its own defensive issues in year one under coach Fran McCaffery, ranking 264th in points per possession allowed. Though due for regression, Penn’s 41.6% 3-point shooting ranks sixth nationally, and they’re giving themselves far more second-chance opportunities than Lafayette. The Leopards rank 301st in offensive rebound percentage while Penn sits 150th.
Pick: Pennsylvania -6.5 and Under 153.5 (Greg’s Handicap Pennsylvania -9.5 and Total 147.5)
7:00 PM Eastern
South Carolina State Bulldogs vs. Charleston Southern Buccaneers
There should be plenty of clean possessions in this matchup, as both teams play uptempo—South Carolina State is 69th in possessions per game while Charleston Southern is 48th. Charleston Southern ranks last in the nation in turnovers forced per possession, but they are shooting 34.4% from 3 overall, which jumps to 43.6% at home. They face a South Carolina State defense that ranks 343rd in points per possession allowed and 357th in defensive rebound percentage, giving up offensive rebounds on 39.6% of missed shots.
Pick: Charleston Southern -10 and Over 150.5
(Greg’s Handicap Charleston Southern -13.5 and Total 153.5)
8:00 PM Eastern
Grambling Tigers vs. Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles
Neither team is pushing the pace, with Grambling 257th in possessions per game and Southern Mississippi 216th. Both have shared defensive struggles—Grambling ranks 268th in points per possession allowed and Southern Mississippi 269th. The Golden Eagles have been one of the nation’s best offensive rebounding teams, ranking 20th and grabbing 37.7% of their missed shots.
Pick: Over 139.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 143.5)
Southern Jaguars vs. Texas Longhorns
Texas is doing a strong job protecting possessions, ranking 23rd in fewest turnovers per possession overall and improving to sixth in home games. Southern ranks 324th in points per possession allowed on defense and 295th in defensive rebound percentage, allowing opponents to secure 33.1% of their missed shots as offensive rebounds.
Pick: Texas -21.5 (Greg’s Handicap Texas -24.5)
Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils vs. Kansas State Wildcats
Mississippi Valley State has sped up this season, ranking 44th in possessions per game, while Kansas State is even faster at 37th. Kansas State’s 38.3% 3-point shooting—33rd in the country—should translate well against an MVSU defense that ranks 245th in opponent 3-point percentage and 357th in overall points per possession allowed.
Pick: Over 155 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 163.5)
Incarnate Word Cardinals vs. New Orleans Privateers
Both defenses have struggled—New Orleans ranks 275th in points per possession allowed, and Incarnate Word is 344th. Incarnate Word plays at one of the slowest paces in the nation, ranking 344th in possessions per game, and hasn’t been sharp inside, ranking 249th in 2-point shooting percentage. New Orleans has turnover issues, ranking 295th in turnovers per possession, but is strong guarding the arc, ranking 61st in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at 29.9%.
Pick: New Orleans +1.5 and Under 151.5
(Greg’s Handicap New Orleans -1.5 and Total 149.5)
