Davidson vs. Bowling Green

7:00 PM ET

Davidson is in search of a main facilitator on offense as they did not return a single player from last season that averaged more than 1.4 assists per game. Bowling Green has Trey Thomas, who averaged 11.5 points and 2.4 assists per game, back to lead a backcourt that brought in some of the more underrated Division II and junior college transfers of any team in the MAC.

Bowling Green +4.5 (Greg’s handicap Bowling Green -1.5)

Texas A&M Commerce vs Texas A&M

8:00 PM ET

Texas A&M was 342nd in 3-point shooting percentage last season and has much of last year’s core back this season. While Texas A&M Commerce is off to an 0-2 start, they covered both games as an underdog and the presence of former East Tennessee State forward Josh Taylor has greatly improved a team that was just 357th in rebounding percentage last season.

Texas A&M Commerce +33 (Greg’s Handicap Texas A&M Commerce +25.5)

Pacific vs. San Jose State

9:30 PM ET

Pacific had the worst against the spread record in college basketball during both the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons and now look to new coach Dave Schilling to turn around their fortunes with an entirely new roster, made primarily of 3-point shooters. San Jose State got seven rebounds from Robert Vaihola in their season opener against Western Illinois after he missed the entire 2023-24 season to give the Spartans the edge on the boards.

San Jose St -2.5 (Greg’s Handicap San Jose St -8.5)

Sacramento State vs. Fresno State

10:00 PM ET

Vance Walberg takes over as the Fresno State head coach after being the coach for Clovis West High School last season and has a group made up of a mix of guys that have never played with one another and are learning a brand new offense. Their first Division I test is against a Sacramento State team that was one of the slowest in the country last season at 350th in possessions per game. One of last season’s assistants, Michael Czepil, has taken over for David Patrick.

Sacramento State vs. Fresno State Under 152.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 139.5)

UCLA vs. New Mexico

11:00 PM ET

New Mexico will run their offense through Donovan Dent this season with Jaelen House and Jamal Mashburn Jr. gone from last season’s team, which should be enough against a UCLA unit that ranked 257th in points scored on a per possession basis last season. They will have difficulty against Nelly Junior Joseph, who had 28 points and 16 rebounds in the season opener for New Mexico against Nicholls.

New Mexico +6.5 (Greg’s Handicap New Mexico +2.5)
