12:00 PM Eastern
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Florida Gators
Florida leads the country in overall rebound percentage while Tennessee is fourth, but Tennessee leads the nation in offensive rebound percentage with 45.3% of missed shots becoming offensive rebounds. Florida ranks 278th in turnovers per possession at home and 351st in 3-point shooting at 27.7%. Both defenses have been strong, with Florida 19th in points per possession allowed at home and Tennessee 17th overall.
Picks: Tennessee +5.5 and Under 152.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Tennessee +4, Total 150)
Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana has been strong defensively, ranking 26th in points per possession allowed, while Nebraska has been even better at 20th. Both teams dare opponents to shoot from deep while guarding the arc well, with opponents making just 30.3% of their 3-point attempts, ranking 51st nationally. Neither team generates many second chances, with Indiana 182nd and Nebraska 251st in offensive rebound percentage.
Pick: Nebraska vs. Indiana Under 149.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Total 145)
Boston College Eagles vs. Louisville Cardinals
Boston College has been solid defensively, ranking 46th in points per possession allowed, but has struggled offensively, ranking 266th in points per possession despite being 41st in fewest turnovers per possession. Louisville’s offense gets most of the attention, but the defense is strong, ranking 28th in points per possession allowed, and the Cardinals may slow things down with assist leader Mikel Brown dealing with an injury. Boston College also plays slow, ranking 259th in possessions per game.
Picks: Louisville -21.5 and Under 150.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Louisville -26.5, Total 144.5)
Fordham Rams vs. St. Bonaventure Bonnies
Fordham ranks 62nd in points per possession allowed and 17th in rebound percentage, while St. Bonaventure is 56th in rebound percentage but could struggle to score against a Fordham defense that is 40th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage and 47th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage in road or neutral games. Fordham also plays at a very slow pace, ranking 363rd in possessions per game.
Pick: Fordham vs. St. Bonaventure Under 140.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Total 132.5)
2:00 PM Eastern
Dartmouth Big Green vs. Cornell Big Red
Both teams are shooting the lights out from 3-point range, with Cornell sixth nationally at 40.9% and Dartmouth 15th at 38.9%, but Dartmouth has struggled to execute offensively, ranking 330th in turnovers per possession. Cornell wants to push the tempo, ranking 13th in possessions per game, while Dartmouth is far slower at 185th.
Picks: Cornell -7.5 and Under 176.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Cornell -13, Total 171)
Towson Tigers vs. Northeastern Huskies
Towson plays at a very slow pace, ranking 356th in possessions per game, and their games feature limited made 3-pointers with the Tigers ranking 363rd in 3-point shooting percentage at 26.3%, which drops to 24.2% away from home. Towson is also strong defensively against the arc, ranking 47th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage, which limits a Northeastern offense that ranks 63rd in 3-point shooting percentage.
Pick: Towson vs. Northeastern Under 143.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Total 142.5)
Buffalo Bulls vs. Ohio Bobcats
Buffalo holds a significant edge on the perimeter, ranking 16th in 3-point shooting percentage at 38.9%, while Ohio ranks 344th at 28.4%. Ohio also struggles defensively on the perimeter, ranking 252nd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage, while Buffalo is 12th in this metric away from home. Buffalo controls tempo well, ranking 332nd in possessions per game, and Ohio is unlikely to generate second chances, ranking 261st in offensive rebound percentage.
Picks: Buffalo +5.5 and Under 153.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Buffalo -2, Total 150)
SMU Mustangs vs. Duke Blue Devils
SMU plays at a rapid pace, ranking 23rd in possessions per game, while Duke is faster than in past seasons under Jon Scheyer, ranking 130th. Duke’s defense has shown some cracks, allowing at least 73 points in five straight games, though still ranking 11th in points per possession allowed. Both offenses are efficient, with SMU 31st and Duke 19th in points per possession, and Duke should find success inside against an SMU defense that is 155th in defensive rebound percentage.
Pick: SMU vs. Duke Over 157.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Total 161.5)
Denver Pioneers vs. South Dakota Coyotes
Denver has yet to play a game under the closing total, but the number may now be inflated. The Pioneers execute well offensively, ranking 89th in points per possession, without playing at an extreme tempo, ranking 162nd in possessions per game. South Dakota wants to run, ranking 27th in possessions per game, but is just 247th in points per possession at home.
Picks: Denver +1.5 and Under 174.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Denver -4.5, Total 172.5)
3:00 PM Eastern
Abilene Christian Wildcats vs. UT Arlington Mavericks
UT Arlington struggles mightily with ball security, ranking 357th in turnovers per possession, while Abilene Christian excels at forcing turnovers, ranking 12th nationally. That aggressive style creates fast-break opportunities and fouls, with Abilene Christian leading the nation in free throws allowed per field goal attempt on defense. UT Arlington’s opponent 3-point shooting percentage of 25.4% is likely due for regression.
Pick: Abilene Christian vs. UT Arlington Over 130.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Total 133.5)
Kansas State Wildcats vs. Arizona State Sun Devils
Kansas State’s strength is 3-point shooting, ranking 37th at 37.1%, but the Wildcats appear to be regressing, making just 22.8% from deep over the past three games. They play fast and loose defensively, allowing at least 75 points in five straight games. Arizona State ranks 55th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at home and allows 18.3 fewer points per 100 possessions at home than on the road.
Pick: Arizona State -1 (Greg’s Handicap: Arizona State -5)
Delaware Blue Hens vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Both teams play at a very slow tempo, with Delaware ranking 340th and Louisiana Tech 362nd in possessions per game. Delaware struggles to capitalize on possessions, ranking 282nd in turnovers per possession and 360th in offensive rebound percentage. Louisiana Tech’s offense is limited, ranking 315th in points per possession, but the defense is solid against the 3-point shot.
Picks: Louisiana Tech -6.5 and Over 122.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Louisiana Tech -8.5, Total 126.5)
4:00 PM Eastern
Providence Friars vs. Xavier Musketeers
Providence has struggled defensively, ranking 219th in points per possession allowed while playing at a very fast pace. Xavier limits second chances well, ranking 45th in defensive rebound percentage, and takes care of the ball, ranking 19th in fewest turnovers per possession, though the Musketeers are just 202nd in points per possession offensively.
Picks: Xavier +2.5 and Under 168 (Greg’s Handicap: Xavier -2, Total 162)
9:00 PM Eastern
Utah State Aggies vs. Boise State Broncos
Utah State is one of the most balanced teams in the country, ranking 28th in points per possession on offense and 32nd on defense. Extra scoring chances will be limited with Boise State seventh in defensive rebound percentage and Utah State seventh in turnovers forced per possession, improving to fifth in road games.
Pick: Utah State -1.5 and Under 147.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Utah State -3.5, Total 145.5)
