12:00 PM Eastern

Bethune Cookman Wildcats vs. Indiana Hoosiers

Bethune Cookman may not have the most impressive metrics, but they’ve already taken Auburn to overtime on the road and hung within 10 points of Dayton on the road, along with a road win against Ohio. Meanwhile, an Indiana defense that ranks ninth in points per possession allowed has shown some cracks recently, surrendering at least 69 points in three of its past five games.

Pick: Bethune Cookman +26.5 (Greg’s Handicap Bethune Cookman +18.5)

1:00 PM Eastern

Manhattan Jaspers vs. Army Black Knights

While the Manhattan defense has been a mess—ranking 361st in points per possession allowed—they face an Army team averaging the third-fewest points per possession on offense at home of any team in the country. Army also prefers a relatively moderate pace, ranking 215th in total possessions per game.

Pick: Manhattan vs. Army Under 159.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 153.5)

2:00 PM Eastern

James Madison Dukes vs. George Mason Patriots

The James Madison defense has regressed from a season ago, ranking 266th in points per possession allowed, but the offense has improved with at least 70 points in every game this season. Their 41.1% 3-point shooting—17th in the country—should help them hang with a George Mason team that is 29th in defensive points per possession, but not capitalizing inside on offense, ranking 193rd in 2-point shooting percentage.

Picks: James Madison +12.5 and Under 145.5 (Greg’s Handicap James Madison +8 and Total 138)

Morehead State Eagles vs. IU Indy Jaguars

IU Indy’s chaotic pressing style has left them at a severe rebounding disadvantage—one Morehead State should exploit. IU Indy ranks 352nd in defensive rebound percentage, allowing opponents to grab 39.4% of their missed shots, while Morehead State ranks 35th nationally in offensive rebound percentage at 37.6%. IU Indy is also failing to guard the 3-point line, allowing 36.7% shooting from deep, which ranks 288th.

Pick: Morehead State +2.5 (Greg’s Handicap Morehead State -4.5)

Southern Jaguars vs. Northwestern State Demons

Both defenses have struggled, with Southern ranking 338th in points per possession allowed and Northwestern State ranking 359th. Northwestern State’s 3-point defense should see positive regression after opponents hit 39.9% from deep against them, and that helps against a Southern offense that ranks just 312th in 2-point shooting percentage and 329th in free throw percentage at 64.4%.

Picks: Northwestern State +2 and Under 148 (Greg’s Handicap Northwestern State -2.5 and Total 144.5)

3:00 PM Eastern

Lipscomb Bisons vs. Southeast Missouri State Redhawks

Southeast Missouri State should see their current 27.4% 3-point shooting improve while continuing to generate turnovers on defense, ranking 57th in turnovers forced per possession. They face a Lipscomb team struggling defensively inside, ranking 318th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage, and 240th in points per possession on offense.

Pick: SE Missouri State Moneyline (Greg’s Handicap SE Missouri State -5.5)

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks vs. UT Arlington Mavericks

Stephen F. Austin is traditionally elite at forcing turnovers but has shifted under first-year coach Matt Brauer, ranking just 183rd in turnovers forced per possession. That benefits UT Arlington, which is 361st in offensive turnovers per possession but compensates by ranking 59th in overall rebound percentage and 41st in offensive rebound percentage. On defense, they allow a high number of free throw attempts—21st-most free throw attempts per field goal attempt—and face an SFA team shooting just 61.3% from the line, ranking 352nd.

Picks: UT Arlington Moneyline and Over 142.5 (Greg’s Handicap UT Arlington -4 and Total 148)

4:00 PM Eastern

Montana State Bobcats vs. Utah State Aggies

Utah State is extremely balanced, ranking in the top 53 nationally in points scored per possession, points allowed per possession, and rebound percentage. They now face a Montana State team capable of being pesky defensively, especially at running teams off the 3-point line—opponents attempt only 29.8% of their shots from deep, the eighth-lowest rate in the nation. Montana State also ranks 102nd in overall shooting percentage.

Picks: Montana State +19.5 and Over 148.5 (Greg’s Handicap Montana State +16 and Total 152)

5:00 PM Eastern

Pepperdine Waves vs. CS Fullerton Titans

Fullerton has cleaned up their turnover issues from last season, ranking 26th in fewest turnovers per possession while ramping up their pace to eighth in total possessions per game. Pepperdine, meanwhile, is struggling across the board offensively, ranking 290th in points per possession and 345th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage away from home.

Picks: CS Fullerton +3.5 and Under 160.5 (Greg’s Handicap CS Fullerton -1.5 and Total 155.5)

7:30 PM Eastern

Albany Great Danes vs. Fordham Rams

Albany has plenty of flaws, entering Friday with opponents making just 24.7% from 3-point range—an unsustainably low rate that should rise. They are also 362nd in turnovers per possession and 346th in defensive rebound percentage, allowing opponents to grab 38.5% of their missed shots. Fordham should see positive regression from their own 25.2% 3-point shooting and are third in rebound percentage in road or neutral settings.

Pick: Fordham -3.5 (Greg’s Handicap Fordham -7.5)
