12:00 PM Eastern
East Carolina Pirates vs. St. Bonaventure Bonnies
East Carolina has been awful around the perimeter after ranking 311th in 3-point shooting last season and sitting even worse this season at 345th. They were 358th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage last year and are currently 362nd, making the regression no fluke. This has led to the Pirates ranking 312th in points per possession on offense and 303rd on defense. St. Bonaventure should take advantage, especially on the glass, where they rank 57th in rebound percentage while East Carolina is 191st.
Picks: St. Bonaventure -9 and Under 145.5 (Greg’s Handicap St. Bonaventure -12.5 and Total 142.5)
2:00 PM Eastern
Creighton Blue Jays vs. Oregon Ducks
Both offenses have gotten off to lackluster starts, with Creighton 155th and Oregon 173rd in points per possession. Oregon’s biggest issue has been ball security, ranking 270th in turnovers per possession, while Creighton has been disciplined, ranking fourth in fewest free-throw attempts allowed per field-goal attempt.
Picks: Creighton +2.5 and Under 155 (Greg’s Handicap Creighton -1.5 and Total 147.5)
3:00 PM Eastern
TCU Horned Frogs vs. Florida Gators
Florida is playing at one of the fastest paces in the country, ranking 26th in possessions per game, and sits 106th in points per possession with a 25.7% 3-point shooting mark that should see positive regression as their new backcourt builds chemistry. Florida also leads the nation in offensive rebounds per game with 19+. TCU seems to be finding rhythm offensively, scoring 78+ in three of their past four games since their opening loss to New Orleans.
Pick: Over 151 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 154)
4:30 PM Eastern
UNLV Rebels vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Both teams have struggled early. UNLV is still without projected starters Myles Che and 7-footer Emmanuel Stephen, contributing to their 256th ranking in points per possession allowed. Rutgers is 106th in that department and is content to slow games down, ranking 310th in possessions per game.
Picks: Rutgers +3 and Under 155.5 (Greg’s Handicap Rutgers -2 and Total 150)
5:30 PM Eastern
Providence Friars vs. Wisconsin Badgers
While Wisconsin has sped up their tempo the past two seasons, they still aren’t a fast-paced team, ranking 193rd in possessions per game. Their 20th-ranked offense has largely feasted at home, as their only road/neutral game was a 98–70 loss to BYU. Providence seems to be shifting back to a slower, defensive approach, holding New Hampshire and Penn State to 66 points or fewer in their last two games. The Friars are also looking to control games inside, shooting only 30.6% from 3 but ranking 22nd in 2-point shooting percentage.
Picks: Providence +6.5 and Under 167.5 (Greg’s Handicap Providence +5 and Total 157)
7:00 PM Eastern
Saint Louis Billikens vs. Santa Clara Broncos
Saint Louis has executed well in most areas, ranking 13th in points per possession allowed and 33rd on offense, but has struggled with ball security at 327th in turnovers per possession. Santa Clara is generating extra possessions, ranking 50th in turnovers forced per possession and third in offensive rebound percentage, grabbing 45.2% of their missed shots.
Picks: Santa Clara Moneyline and Under 158 (Greg’s Handicap Santa Clara -2 and Total 152)
9:30 PM Eastern
Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Stanford Cardinal
Stanford has dominated the defensive glass this season, ranking second in defensive rebound percentage with opponents grabbing just 17.1% of their missed shots. Minnesota ranks outside the top 290 in both free-throw and 3-point shooting, and is also struggling defensively on the perimeter, allowing opponents to hit 38.3% from 3 (322nd nationally).
Pick: Stanford -1.5 (Greg’s Handicap Stanford -5.5)
10:30 PM Eastern
Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Northwestern Wildcats
These teams play opposite tempos, with Oklahoma State ranking fifth in possessions per game and Northwestern 298th. Oklahoma State is allowing fewer points per possession on defense but also scoring fewer on offense, with issues in ball security (227th in turnovers per possession). Northwestern’s 41.9% 3-point shooting should regress, but their elite ball security (15th in fewest turnovers per possession) remains a major advantage.
Picks: Northwestern -2.5 and Under 160.5 (Greg’s Handicap Northwestern -5 and Total 155)
