11:00 AM Eastern
George Washington Revolutionaries vs. Army Black Knights
Only 10 teams that have played at least one Division I home game are scoring fewer points per possession at home than Army, and the Black Knights are playing at a moderate tempo, ranking 192nd in total possessions per game. George Washington ranks 122nd in points per possession allowed on defense and should limit Army’s outside scoring chances, ranking 57th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage, while Army is attempting 53.8% of its shots from 3, the fifth-highest rate in the nation.
Pick: Under 160.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 154.5)
12:00 PM Eastern
Charleston Southern Buccaneers vs. UT Martin Skyhawks
UT Martin’s biggest issue this season has been ball security, ranking 363rd in turnovers per possession, but they face a Charleston Southern team that ranks last in turnovers forced per possession. Both teams shoot it well from deep, with Charleston Southern 89th in 3-point percentage at 36.2% and UT Martin 72nd at 37.6%. UT Martin has also been the stronger interior team, ranking 67th in 2-point shooting percentage compared to Charleston Southern’s 255th mark.
Picks: UT Martin -5.5 and Over 148.5 (Greg’s Handicap UT Martin -10 and Total 152)
7:00 PM Eastern
Texas A&M Aggies vs. Pittsburgh Panthers
Texas A&M has been one of the best teams in the country at generating turnovers, ranking 12th in turnovers per possession, but that aggressiveness has left their perimeter defense vulnerable, allowing opponents to shoot 37.9% from 3 (318th nationally). Pittsburgh has been strong on the offensive glass, ranking 59th in offensive rebound rate and grabbing 34.4% of its missed shots.
Pick: Pittsburgh +3 (Greg’s Handicap Pittsburgh -1.5)
Stonehill Skyhawks vs. Bryant Bulldogs
Bryant ranks 356th in points per possession on offense, but they’ve had to face two top-30 defenses in Connecticut and Georgia Tech. Now they draw a Stonehill defense ranked 207th in points per possession allowed. Both teams should get cleaner possessions than usual, with Bryant 328th in turnovers forced per possession and Stonehill 362nd.
Pick: Over 131.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 141.5)
Brown Bears vs. Rhode Island Rams
Rhode Island has climbed to 64th in points per possession on offense with strong interior play, ranking 28th in 2-point shooting percentage. Brown ranks just 282nd in points per possession overall, but played its first five games without forward Landen Lewis, who has averaged 14.3 points since returning.
Pick: Over 136.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 144.5)
Jackson State Tigers vs. Kennesaw State Owls
Jackson State has struggled badly this season, losing all but one game by 17+ points while ranking 361st in points per possession on offense and 362nd on defense. Kennesaw State is pushing tempo, ranking second in possessions per game, and is doing the gritty work inside, ranking 75th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage and 77th in offensive rebound rate.
Pick: Kennesaw State -12.5 (Greg’s Handicap Kennesaw State -21)
Georgia State Panthers vs. Mercer Bears
Georgia State has struggled offensively, ranking 359th in points per possession, but should improve with the return of top scorer Jelani Hamilton, who missed four games and is averaging 16.3 points per game. Mercer continues to allow opponents a high volume of second chances, ranking 350th in defensive rebound percentage with opponents grabbing 38.8% of their missed shots.
Pick: Georgia State +11.5 (Greg’s Handicap Georgia State +7)
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Oklahoma should see positive regression from its current 283rd ranking in opponent 3-point percentage after finishing 17th in that category last season. The Sooners play at a moderate tempo (194th), while Wake Forest ranks 43rd in points per possession allowed and 34th in possessions per game—though many of those possessions are empty, as they rank 21st in turnovers forced per possession.
Pick: Under 158.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 150.5)
8:00 PM Eastern
Lindenwood Lions vs. Northern Illinois Huskies
Northern Illinois has struggled to take care of the ball, ranking 352nd in turnovers per possession. Lindenwood’s offense has improved since Dontrez Williams returned after missing the first two games, scoring at least 65 points in four of five games even though they still sit 341st in points per possession. Their biggest issue is a 24.6% 3-point shooting rate, but they should find success against a NIU defense ranked 343rd in opponent 2-point percentage.
Pick: Lindenwood +5.5 (Greg’s Handicap Lindenwood +1.5)
Sacramento State Hornets vs. Baylor Bears
Neither team is pushing the pace, with Sacramento State 140th in possessions per game and Baylor 134th. Sacramento State has struggled to finish inside, ranking 351st in points per possession, and is dealing with an injury to rebound leader Jeremiah Cherry. Baylor has also dealt with injuries and sits 131st in 2-point shooting percentage.
Pick: Under 158.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 151.5)
Purdue Boilermakers vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Both teams play slowly, with Purdue 277th and Rutgers 288th in possessions per game. The crowd should help Rutgers stay competitive, and Purdue is not aggressive in generating turnovers (285th in turnovers per possession). Rutgers has been strong inside, ranking 21st in opponent 2-point shooting percentage.
Picks: Rutgers +15.5 and Under 146.5 (Greg’s Handicap Rutgers +13.5 and Total 143.5)
9:00 PM Eastern
Miami Hurricanes vs. Ole Miss Rebels
Miami ranks 18th nationally in points per possession allowed while still playing at a brisk pace (116th in possessions per game). Both offenses are strong—Miami is 45th in points per possession, Ole Miss 63rd—and Ole Miss protects the ball well, ranking 58th in fewest turnovers per possession.
Pick: Over 146 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 156)
10:00 PM Eastern
USC Trojans vs. Oregon Ducks
USC ranks 20th in possessions per game, though that number is inflated by a triple-overtime game vs. Troy. Oregon plays at a moderate pace (212th) and has struggled to score, ranking 188th in points per possession, with turnover issues at 248th in turnovers per possession. USC has defended well inside and out, ranking 29th in opponent 3-point percentage and 5th in block rate.
Picks: USC -1.5 and Under 156.5 (Greg’s Handicap USC -4.5 and Total 150.5)
Saint Louis Billikens vs. Loyola Marymount Lions
Saint Louis does most things well—31st in points per possession allowed and 55th on offense—but keeps derailing possessions with turnovers, ranking 290th in turnovers per possession. Loyola Marymount has defended well, ranking 48th in opponent field-goal percentage.
Pick: Loyola Marymount +6.5 (Greg’s Handicap Loyola Marymount +3.5)
