1:00 PM Eastern

Michigan State Spartans vs. East Carolina Pirates

Michigan State has already held both Arkansas and Kentucky below 70 points this season as they continue to slow games down, ranking 286th in possessions per game. They’re 37th overall in points per possession allowed, improving to 17th in games played away from home. Both teams are struggling from 3-point range, with Michigan State 285th at 29.4% and East Carolina 359th at 22.4%. While these percentages should tick up slightly, both teams also ranked 319th or worse in 3-point shooting last season.

Picks: East Carolina +23.5 and Under 145 (Greg’s Handicap: East Carolina +17.5 and Under 139.5)

2:00 PM Eastern

Northern Iowa Panthers vs. Loyola Chicago Ramblers

It has been a brutal 1–5 start for Loyola Chicago, with one of the biggest issues being the defensive glass, where opponents are rebounding 37.9% of their missed shots (336th nationally). Northern Iowa’s main offensive issue has been securing second chances, ranking 363rd in offensive rebound percentage, but they’re top 105 in both fewest turnovers per possession and 3-point shooting percentage.

Pick: Over 134.5 (Greg’s Total: 141.5)

3:00 PM Eastern

Samford Bulldogs vs. Georgia State Panthers

Samford has struggled to make shots, ranking 278th in field goal percentage, and though improvement should come, the offense has at least taken care of the ball (11th in turnovers per possession). The defense is not generating turnovers (323rd), which benefits a Georgia State team that is 317th in turnovers per possession. Georgia State should also get clean looks from 3 against a Samford defense that ranks 355th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at 42.2%.

Pick: Georgia State +5.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Georgia State -2.5)

3:30 PM Eastern

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Syracuse Orange

Syracuse entered the Players Era Tournament leading the nation in points per possession allowed and now faces a Kansas team playing more slowly and defensively focused without injured freshman Darryn Peterson. Kansas entered Monday 35th in points per possession allowed despite playing Duke and North Carolina away from home. The offense has lagged at 116th in points per possession and 262nd in offensive rebound percentage, while the tempo is down at 261st in possessions per game.

Pick: Under 148.5 (Greg’s Total: 142)

6:30 PM Eastern

Cal Baptist Lancers vs. San Diego Toreros

San Diego has greatly improved their outside shooting at 37% from 3, while Cal Baptist is aggressively running teams off the 3-point line, ranking 20th in the percentage of opponent shots taken from deep (30.9%). However, Cal Baptist has struggled with their own offense, ranking 223rd or worse in both 2-point and 3-point shooting percentage.

Pick: San Diego +7.5 (Greg’s Handicap: San Diego +2)

7:00 PM Eastern

Lehigh Mountain Hawks vs. Marist Foxes

Marist once again has a strong interior defense, ranking 62nd in opponent 2-point shooting percentage, but should see major regression from holding opponents to 24.5% from 3 after ranking 170th last season. That’s important for a Lehigh team that lacks size (360th in rebound percentage) but is shooting a respectable 32.7% from deep.

Pick: Over 130 (Greg’s Total: 137.5)

8:00 PM Eastern

Eastern Washington Eagles vs. North Texas Mean Green

Despite a coaching change, North Texas remains slow and defense-oriented, ranking 354th in possessions per game and 77th in points per possession allowed. Both offenses have been similar—Eastern Washington at 235th and North Texas at 228th. Eastern Washington should get more second chances, ranking 128th in defensive rebound percentage compared to North Texas at 256th.

Pick: Eastern Washington +12.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Eastern Washington +7.5)

Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils vs. Texas A&M Aggies

Mississippi Valley State has sped up massively from last season, jumping to 92nd in possessions per game from 296th. Their offense, while still below average, is much improved from dead last in points per possession. Texas A&M should shred a Delta Devils defense that ranks 347th in points per possession allowed, and the Aggies have also sped up, ranking 88th in tempo.

Pick: Over 151 (Greg’s Total: 160.5)

11:00 PM Eastern

Oregon Ducks vs. San Diego State Aztecs

San Diego State’s metrics on defense and tempo are skewed by their recent double-overtime game vs. Troy and should normalize here, especially with both teams on a back-to-back and SDSU regaining defensive anchor Magoon Gwath. Oregon has struggled to generate clean offense, ranking 184th in points per possession and 239th in turnovers per possession, while playing slower (214th in tempo). Their defense has been solid, ranking 46th in points per possession allowed.

Pick: Under 144.5 (Greg’s Total: 138.5)

Midnight Eastern

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. UNLV Rebels

Alabama led the country in possessions per game last season and ranks 27th this year, but a midnight tip on day two of a back-to-back should slow both teams. UNLV continues dealing with injuries, with Myles Che and Emmanuel Stephen yet to play and Ladji Dembele missing three straight games.

Pick: Under 181.5 (Greg’s Total: 175)

Grand Canyon Antelopes vs. Utah Utes

Grand Canyon’s usually stout defense has regressed, ranking 141st in points per possession allowed, and turnovers have stalled the offense (233rd in turnovers per possession). Utah enters 86th in points per possession, with Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Terrence Brown ranking second nationally at 25.2 points per game.

Pick: Utah +3.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Utah -1.5)
