12:00 PM Eastern

UMass Lowell River Hawks vs. Stonehill Skyhawks

UMass Lowell has struggled on both ends of the court, ranking 314th in points per possession on offense and 341st in points per possession allowed on defense. Stonehill’s offense has also struggled to 341st in points per possession with Holy Cross transfer Will Batchelder injured and missing the past four games, but Stonehill has a big advantage on the glass, ranking 192nd in rebound percentage while UMass Lowell is 323rd.

Pick: Stonehill -3 (Greg’s Handicap Stonehill -9)

2:00 PM Eastern

Appalachian State Mountaineers vs. Mercer Bears

While Appalachian State entered Tuesday 289th nationally in points per possession allowed, they have held three of their past five opponents to 65 points or fewer and should get plenty of second-chance scoring opportunities against a Mercer team allowing opponents to rebound 38.7% of their missed shots, which ranks 348th in the country.

Pick: Appalachian State +6.5 (Greg’s Handicap Appalachian State +1.5)

Wofford Terriers vs. Northern Kentucky Norse

Northern Kentucky was 337th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage last season and is currently 217th in this department. Wofford is attempting 50.3% of their field goal attempts in games played away from home from 3-point range and has a nice edge on the glass, ranking 137th in rebound percentage while Northern Kentucky is 282nd.

Pick: Wofford +5.5 (Greg’s Handicap Wofford -2.5)

5:00 PM Eastern

Colorado State Rams vs. Virginia Tech Hokies

The Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament traditionally has a tricky shooting backdrop and hard rims, which compounds with Colorado State slowing games down, ranking 353rd in possessions per game. Though the Rams have been extremely efficient on offense, ranking second in points per possession, it has come against outmatched competition, and both teams have been solid on the defensive glass with Virginia Tech 100th in defensive rebound percentage and Colorado State 35th.

Pick: Under 153.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 148.5)

Wagner Seahawks vs. Manhattan Jaspers

Wagner has sped up their tempo from last season but still isn’t playing overly fast, ranking 232nd in total possessions per game after being 362nd a season ago, and they are struggling on offense at 278th in points per possession. Manhattan is dealing with top returning scorer Will Sydnor being out due to eligibility issues and is 225th in points per possession without him, with the biggest issue coming on the glass, ranking 337th in rebound percentage. Wagner is only 253rd themselves, and the Seahawks have been incapable of running clean offense, ranking 286th in turnovers per possession.

Picks: Manhattan -3 and Under 147.5 (Greg’s Handicap Manhattan -6.5 and Total 138.5)

7:00 PM Eastern

Columbia Lions vs. Fairfield Stags

Both teams have been among the better mid-major defenses early on, with Fairfield 145th in points per possession allowed and Columbia 89th. Columbia has struggled taking care of the ball at 328th in turnovers per possession on offense while Fairfield is 40th in fewest turnovers per possession and should see an uptick from their current 30.8% 3-point shooting.

Pick: Fairfield Moneyline (Greg’s Handicap Fairfield -3.5)

Harvard Crimson vs. Boston College Eagles

Boston College lost outright in their most recent home game against Central Connecticut and has struggled on offense, with only 43 schools averaging fewer points per possession at home. Harvard is 54th in points per possession away from home, and both teams are playing slowly, with Boston College 250th in possessions per game and Harvard 343rd.

Pick: Harvard +7.5 (Greg’s Handicap Harvard +1.5)

Eastern Michigan Eagles vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati has decided to crank up their tempo, ranking 40th in total possessions per game after being 280th a season ago. Though the Eastern Michigan defense has improved to 178th in points per possession allowed, they are still allowing teams to shoot 34.9% from 3-point range after ranking 352nd in opponent 3-point shooting last season.

Pick: Over 145.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 151)

7:30 PM Eastern

Indiana State Sycamores vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

A revenge spot for Louisiana Tech after losing to Indiana State 60–51 on November 19 with both teams going cold from 3-point range. Indiana State was 11-of-38 from deep and Louisiana Tech was 2-for-16, shooting just 29% from the floor overall. Positive regression should come against an Indiana State defense that likely won’t sustain early success, as opponents are shooting only 29% from 3-point range after allowing 35.9% last season.

Picks: Louisiana Tech -1.5 and Over 140.5 (Greg’s Handicap Louisiana Tech -5, Total 145)

8:00 PM Eastern

Southern Illinois Salukis vs. Memphis Tigers

Since Thanksgiving 2022, Memphis is 3-21-2 against the spread as a favorite of at least 10 points. The transfers they brought in are not gelling on offense, with the team ranking 247th in turnovers per possession and 223rd in points per possession. Southern Illinois has found its offensive groove in year two under Scott Nagy, ranking 109th in points per possession despite shooting a paltry 24.1% from 3, which should positively regress.

Pick: Southern Illinois +11.5 (Greg’s Handicap Southern Illinois +7.5)

9:00 PM Eastern

NJIT Highlanders vs. Louisville Cardinals

NJIT recently got back returning scorer Sebastian Robinson, who missed three full games and parts of others due to injury, which should help an offense that ranks 324th in points per possession. Louisville’s strong defense has been overshadowed by their high-powered offense that is 10th in points per possession, while the defense sits close behind at 15th in points per possession allowed.

Pick: NJIT +43 (Greg’s Handicap NJIT +37.5)

10:00 PM Eastern

Long Beach State 49ers vs. Portland Pilots

Long Beach State has slowed their tempo down since coach Chris Acker took over two seasons ago, ranking 211th in possessions per game. Portland plays fast at 50th in possessions per game, but both offenses have struggled: Long Beach State is 328th in points per possession and Portland 242nd, with the Pilots also squandering possessions at 316th in turnovers per possession.

Pick: Under 150.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 143.5)
