The crux of Alabama’s issues have come on defense, giving up at least 70 points in seven of their nine matchups since the start of December and are 183rd in the country in points allowed on a per-possession basis.

The Bulldogs enter ranked 16th in America in points scored on a per-possession basis, even with starter Tolu Smith out of the lineup for 10 of the 15 games this season. He has a possibility to return on Saturday.

The glass has been kind to Mississippi State this season as they are No. 8 nationally in rebound rate, while Alabama is 239th in allowing opponent rebound rate on missed shots at 28 percent.

Alabama is 240th among Division I teams in 3-point shooting percentage at 28.5 percent, and with 40 percent of the points Mississippi State allows coming on made 3-pointers, which is the 12th-highest percentage in the country, Alabama’s inability to shoot from the outside will prove to be costly.

Pick: Mississippi State -1
