Week 3 of the 2025 college football season is here and our VSiN team is attacking it relentlessly. However, I’d love for you to keep reading for my college football best bets and predictions for this exciting Week 3 slate. I’ll probably add some picks as lines move and more information comes out later in the week — and on game day. If I do, I’ll put them on the VSiN Pro Picks page. Don’t miss out on those.

Clemson Tigers at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – 12:00 pm ET

Bet: Clemson -2.5 (-140)
USC Trojans at Purdue Boilermakers – 3:30 pm ET
Last week, Purdue didn’t look all that great in a 34-17 win over FCS Southern Illinois. And honestly, I’m not sure that should come as a surprise to anybody. Barry Odom did some great work as the head coach of UNLV, but this Purdue program needed to be gutted and completely rebuilt. This year, only eight players with starting experience are in the Boilermakers starting depth chart, and the team has some very uninspiring players on the offensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, Lincoln Riley might have the most talented team he has put together in Southern California. He got some big-time players to play in D’Anton Lynn’s defense, and some of them are big boys along the D-Line. And Riley has another one of his trademark explosive offenses.
There could be something to be said about Odom being familiar with quarterback Jayden Maiava, who played for him at UNLV. But I’m just not sure that’s going to matter enough. It’s obviously very early in the season, but USC is first in the nation in adjusted EPA per play (0.59). Maiava has been doing a good job of getting the ball out accurately, and he’s also making the big plays when they’re there. And the Trojans have one of the best groups of wide receivers in the nation, along with a very explosive backfield.
I just don’t see there being much resistance when USC tries to move the ball, and I like the Trojans defense to stifle the Boilermakers. Also, USC has been pretty damn good as a huge favorite under Riley. When favored by 10.5 to 21 points, the Trojans are 6-0 straight-up and 4-2 against the spread. Meanwhile, Odom is 0-6 SU and 0-5-1 ATS as an underdog of 10.5 to 21 in his career.
