In the meantime, let's discuss where smart money is leaning for tonight's College Football doubleheader…

8 p.m. ET: East Carolina at BYU (-3, 63)

These non-conference foes are trending in opposite directions. East Carolina (5-3) has won three of their last four games and just upset UCF 34-13, winning outright as 5.5-point home dogs. On the flip side, BYU (4-4) has lost three straight games and just got crushed by Liberty 41-14, failing to cover as 7-point road dogs. This line opened with BYU listed as a 3-point home favorite. The public is laying the points with BYU at home. However, despite receiving 67% of bets, the line hasn't moved. Typically, when a team is getting two-thirds of bets or more in their favor you'll see the line rise from -3 to -3.5. The fact the line hasn't moved signals a sharp line freeze with respected money grabbing East Carolina plus the points. East Carolina is only receiving 33% of bets but 48% of money, a sharp contrarian bet discrepancy in their favor. Both teams are averaging roughly 30 PPG on offense. The difference comes on defense, with ECU allowing 23 PPG compare to BYU allowing 32 PPG. We could also be looking at a higher scoring game, with sharp money steaming the total up from 61.5 to 63. The over is receiving 54% of bets but 90% of money, a sharp over discrepancy.

8 p.m. ET: Louisiana Tech (-6, 57) at FIU

These Conference USA opponents are looking to climb back toward .500. Louisiana Tech (2-5) has lost four of their last five games and just fell to Rice 41-41 in overtime but covered as a 2.5-point home dog. Meanwhile, FIU (3-4) just snapped a two-game losing streak with a 34-15 win over Charlotte, winning outright as a 14-point road dog. This line opened with Louisiana Tech listed as a 9-point road favorite. Despite 67% of bets laying the points with the road favorite, we've seen Louisiana Tech fall from -9 to -6. This signals smart money grabbing the points with home dog. FIU is only receiving 33% of bets but 55% of the money, a sharp "low bets, higher dollars" bet discrepancy. Louisiana Tech is dealing with injuries to its top two quarterbacks and could be starting a third string true freshman, which makes sense due to the line move.
