Week 7 College Football Predictions
College football never disappoints. Even on bad betting weeks, which I definitely had in Week 6, the sport still just delivers quality entertainment and upsets that provoke debate week after week. Who would’ve thought Texas and Penn State would find themselves in the positions they’re in? I surely didn’t as they were two of my top three power rated teams coming into the season. So much for that. We’re onto Week 7 now. There’s another amazing slate of games, and TSI is fired up and ready to cash some bets this week. Here are my top early week bets for college football Week 7.

Southern Miss (-2.5) vs Georgia Southern O/U 60.5
I was really high on the Golden Eagles’ rebuilt roster and coaching staff coming into the season, but after they lost in week 1 to Mississippi State it feels like the hype kind of died, only for us to realize Mississippi State is actually pretty good and USM hung with them respectably, so I think now is a good time to buy low(er) on Southern Miss. They’re laying less than a field goal here on the road, but TSI projects them as 10-point favorites here, and the on-field-only formula makes it USM -14, so I love getting below the key number of 3 here with Charles Huff’s team, who just destroyed Jacksonville State by 17 before their bye week last week.
College Football Pick: Southern Miss -2.5
Old Dominion (-14) vs Marshall, O/U 55
I posted on X Sunday afternoon that there is a real sleeper in the Group of 5 (6?) this season that no one is talking about, and it’s the Monarchs of Old Dominion. They’re 4-1 with their lone loss being a competitive game against Indiana, and they’ve won their four games by an average of 21 points, including a 19-point win at Virginia Tech. Their power rating is skyrocketing, and I think this is a great spot to buy them before too many people catch on. Marshall just gave up 54 points to Louisiana in OT after giving up 28 to Middle Tennessee, who might be the worst team in FBS, and losing earlier to Missouri State in their first year of FBS membership. TSI projects ODU -16. The on-field-only formula makes it -18.5. I think the Monarchs roll in Huntington this week.
College Football Pick: Old Dominion -14
