Procore Championship 2025 Picks, Best Bets and Golf Odds:
Typically, the first event of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Fall portion of the schedule would feature a so-so field, but this year is different as the Ryder Cup is approaching in two weeks. After yet another defeat in Rome two years ago, the U.S. team felt in the aftermath of the loss that Team Europe was in better form heading into the event because their players actually played more into the lead-up to the event. So, this week 10 of the 12 members of Team USA will tee it up in Napa Valley for the Procore Championship.
Xander Schauffele (birth of a child) and Bryson DeChambeau, due to his participation in LIV Golf, will not be playing this week. But U.S. captain Keegan Bradley, not entered in the field, will have the bulk of his group this week, including Scottie Scheffler (+225), who, like several of his teammates, either has never played this event or has not played here in years.
U.S. Open champion and California native J.J. Spaun (30-1) is actually an annual participant in the event.
Russell Henley (18-1) has not played here since 2018 and Justin Thomas (18-1) has played here sporadically, but when he has, he has been in contention — fourth in 2019 and fifth in 2023.
Other members of the Ryder Cup team here this week include Patrick Cantlay (18-1), Sam Burns (20-1), Cameron Young (25-1), Ben Griffin (28-1), Collin Morikawa (28-1) and Harris English (30-1).
Most of the field, though, is here to get a head start on next year’s FedEx Cup season, including several players who were potentially in the mix to make the Ryder Cup team, like Maverick McNealy (33-1) and Akshay Bhatia (35-1).
Patton Kizzire (300-1) is the defending champion. Other former Procore winners in this week’s field include 2021 and 2022 winner Max Homa (45-1), 2023 winner Sahith Theegala (80-1), 2019 winner Cameron Champ (100-1) and 2015 winner Emiliano Grillo (100-1).
The Event
The Procore Championship began in 2007 as the Fry’s Electronics Open. Construction management software company Procore Technologies takes over as the title sponsor this year. It also marks the beginning of FedExCup Fall.
The Procore Championship marks the first event of the 2025 FedExCup Fall. The FedExCup Fall consists of eight official PGA Tour events, providing players with an opportunity to secure or improve their positions in the priority ranking and earn additional playing opportunities for the 2026 FedEx Cup season, which begins at The Sentry in January. Furthermore, points can only be earned by players ranked 51st or lower.
Only the Top 100 players at the end of the FedExCup Fall are guaranteed full PGA Tour cards for the 2026 season, whereas players ranked 101-150 will only receive conditional status.
The Field
This week’s Procore Championship field features 144 players.

It is rare for this event to have six of the top 10 OWGR-ranked players, but with the Ryder Cup approaching, top players are participating this week.
The Course
The Silverado Resort’s North Course in Napa, Calif., has hosted here since 2014. The course’s first major redesign was done in 1966 by Robert Trent Jones Jr, and then again in 2011 by Johnny Miller. It plays a par-72 of 7,138 yards.
The Bermuda fairways with Poa Annua and Ryegrass are the narrowest (24 yards average width) on the PGA Tour. Miller wanted to reconfigure the bunkering on this course to create a bit of an “Augusta” type feel. A strong, balanced game off the tee (both distance and accuracy) is required here because the 2.5-inch Bluegrass/Ryegrass Rough can be tricky.
Although there is some rolling terrain and a couple of holes with elevation changes, it is predominantly a flat course. With only two holes with water hazards in play and only 53 bunkers on the course, there are not a lot of trouble spots.
Players will be hitting into Bentgrass/Poa Annua (11.5 to 12 on the stimpmeter) greens that are elevated with shaved run-offs and can be bumpy. The greens also average 5,400 square feet. Eight years is not a huge sample size, but West Coast players have fared relatively well on these Bent/Poa greens with Sahith Theegala, Max Homa, Cameron Champ and Brendan Steele, all California guys, winning here recently.
Comparable courses include Detroit Golf Club, TPC River Highlands, TPC San Antonio, TPC Deere Run, TPC Twin Cities, TPC Scottsdale, Riviera and Pebble Beach.
Here is the Procore Championship official scorecard courtesy of the PGA Tour:

The Silverado Resort’s YouTube page provides a video Tour of the Silverado North Course featuring Johnny and son Andy Miller, who did the renovation.
This track is not all that comparable to Bethpage Black, this year’s Ryder Cup venue, so the Ryder Cup team members are here primarily to play in competition and be tuned up for the event without having that long layoff between the FedExCup Playoffs and the Ryder Cup.
Weather
As one would expect for this time of the year, the Accuweather forecast shows fairly ideal conditions in Napa Valley this week.

Selections
Patrick Cantlay (18-1, DraftKings)
It has now been a full three years since Cantlay has been in the winner’s circle. However, he posted his best finish in two years last time out, finishing runner-up at the Tour Championship, where he led the field for Strokes Gained: Approach.
Cantlay had two top-10 finishes in the three FedExCup playoff events, so the game has been coming into form.
He has played in this event only twice, finishing 17th in 2019 and 40th in 2020. However, he has always performed well on comparable courses, possessing multiple top-five finishes at Riviera, Pebble Beach and TPC River Highlands.
Maverick McNealy (28-1, BetMGM)
While the captain’s picks from USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley were fairly cut and dried, McNealy was certainly in consideration.
After winning last year’s season finale at the RSM Classic for his first PGA Tour victory, McNealy had a couple of close looks at a second victory earlier this season with a runner-up at the Genesis Invitational, and two other third-place finishes.
He cooled a bit later in the season, but this could be a good spot for him where he finished runner-up in 2021, plus he can certainly use the Ryder Cup snub as motivation.
Jackson Koivun (55-1, FanDuel)
Currently a junior at Auburn and the No. 1-ranked amateur in the world, Koivun led the U.S. team to victory at the Walker Cup over Great Britain and Ireland last weekend.
Koivun played a couple of events this past summer on the PGA Tour, finishing T-5 at the Wyndham, T-6 at the ISCO and T-11 at the John Deere Classic.
Matt McCarty (100-1, BetRivers)
After earning the “battlefield promotion” for winning three times on the Korn Ferry Tour last year, McCarty immediately won on the PGA Tour at the Black Desert Championship in Utah.
McCarty has only two top-10s in 2025 and sits 82nd in the FedExCup standings, but this time of year is where he clinched his promotion and won his maiden PGA Tour event.
Matt Kuchar (100-1, Caesars Sportsbook)
Kuchar ranks 127th in the FedExCup points and needs to get into the top 100 this fall to keep his status on the PGA Tour.
The 47-year-old has done well at Silverado each of the last three years with finishes of 13th, seventh and 12th.
Sami Valimaki (105-1, Circa Sports)
The man from Finland sits 87th in the FedExCup standings and one very good finish this fall will for sure keep his card.
While he did not make the playoffs, Valimaki did not take time off as he went back to the DP World Tour, finishing T-2 in Switzerland at the Omega European Masters and T-8 in Denmark for the Danish Golf Championship.
