Trainer Paul McGee’s barn points strongly to Churchill during the September meet, pulled a $26 upset on Wednesday and might be in play again with this 20-1 morning line proposition #7 Glen Airy. The two projected favorites in this race are vulnerable in that one hasn’t started this year and the other has the farthest wide post position at a disadvantage. Morning workouts for Glen Airy are promising. Win-place bet #7.
Churchill Downs | Race 8 | 8:23 pm ET
#9 Three Polks (6-1 morning line) has only one successful style and that’s to battle for the lead and try to win on the front end. She’s a Keeneland maiden winner, owning the strongest victory in this field of horses all looking for a second lifetime score. Her recent form has been disappointing against tougher competition, but she could get brave against this easier group. Trainer John Ortiz and jockey Ramon Vazquez teamed up for a Churchill stakes victory on Saturday. Win-place bet #9.
