Gulfstream Park Picks for Friday, January 23:
HORSING AROUND: One of the quirks of being a public handicapper is best summed up with a single old adage: Do as I say. Not as I do. I believe that today’s Gulfstream card is one of the weakest of the meet. With that in mind, proceed with caution when considering betting on today’s card. I’d recommend saving some of your betting cash to use with my VSiN selections for Saturday’s stellar Pegasus World Cup International stakes-laden card.
SATURDAY AT GULFSTREAM: It’s Pegasus Day! The Grade 1 $3 Million Pegasus World Cup International, featuring a dozen top-quality thoroughbreds, Race 13 goes to post at 5:39 p.m. ET/2:39 p.m. PT. It is preceded by an excellent race card, including 10 additional competitive stakes and/or handicaps. Favored to capture the World Cup is #1 Disco Time (8-5 morning line) for the Brad Cox barn, ridden by Flavien Prat, or #11 White Abarrio (4-1) for Saffie Joseph, Jr. and ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr. Saturday’s action gets underway at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. Be sure to check out Mr. Ed’s exclusive selections.

Mr. Ed likes either of two in leg 1 of the DD: #4 SOCIAL TRIUMPH (9-2 morning line) for trainer Guadalupe Preciado, who rehires Joe Bravo to ride, and #6 BOLT HOUSE (4-1) for Mike Maker and Luis Saez. Drinks on the house.

What’s not to like about #6 ADMIRAL MO (7-5 morning line)? Son of super sire Uncle Mo, HOF rider Javier Castellano, and excellent trainer Kelly Breen. He’s stretching out while dropping in class. Show Mo the money.
GULFSTREAM PARK SELECTION: $20 to Win. ($20)

Race 9 (4:20 p.m. ET/1:20 p.m. PT) — $86K ALLOWANCE CLAIMING for fillies and mares, 4YOs & Up going 5 furlongs on the grass

To complete the DD, I like two: #6 RELATOR (7-2 morning line) with top young rider David Egan up again, and #8 GET READY TO ROCK (6-1) for trainer Andy Williams with Jonathan Ocasio riding. Either of two for the $$$$.
TOTAL WAGERS: $110
