Mr. Ed’s Parx Picks for Saturday, September 21:
ALL EYES ON PARX RACING: Every track has its day. And, with a loaded,14-race card highlighted by 11 stakes worth more than $3 million in purse money, today belongs to Parx Racing. Two of the best thoroughbreds in training — Next (Race 8) and Thorpedo Anna (Race 12) — are on the deep Parx card. The suburban Philadelphia track’s original claim to fame came in the ‘70s when it pioneered off-track, televised racing cards. Mr. Ed cut his ‘capping chops on Saturday afternoons at a nearby OTB, where he and a bunch of older men labored at finding winners at one track, Philadelphia Park (aka Parx). The old guys are long gone. But the now-ancient Mr. Ed can bet 50 tracks 24/7 on an Ipad from his couch. As for today, below you’ll find $202 worth of wisdom on today’s Parx card. The selections appear merely for your consideration. Play them all, like Mr. Ed, at your own risk. Let’s look at Saturday’s Parx Picks.
