Favorites and underdogs mostly split the sports betting action for the second day in a row in baseball (MLB) and football (USFL) with the NBA and NHL championship series taking the day off.

Let’s get to the specific details with our daily betting recaps, and then update the spread and total records in each current major team sport (including the NBA Finals that resume Monday and the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs that resume on Tuesday with the Denver Nuggets and Vegas Golden Knights leading 3-1 in their respective series and trying to wrap up their championships.

MLB: Underdogs went 8-7 on Sunday (for the 2nd straight day) with the biggest upsets by the Nationals (+235 in 6-2 win at the Braves, snapping their 7-game winning streak), A’s (+175 in 8-6 at Brewers to complete sweep) and Rockies (+170 in 5-4 win vs. Padres to snap their own 6-game skid). Home teams went 9-6. Overs led 8-7. On the season, faves lead 565-404 with 14 games closing pick-’em. Home teams lead 521-460 with 2 neutral-site games. Unders still lead 480-467-35 with 1 no-action.

USFL: New Jersey Generals (-2.5) beat Philadelphia Stars 37-33 on Sunday to wrap up Week 9 after opening as short dogs (flew Over betting total of 41.5 points). Earlier, Birmingham Stallions (-4) routed Houston Gamblers 38-15 (went Over 44.5). Faves wept 2-0 SU and ATS on the day vs. closing point spreads. Overs also swept 2-0.

More USFL: Faves led 3-1 SU and ATS in Week 9, but dogs still lead 20-16 SU overall and even better at 25-11 ATS (69.4%, though down from 75% most of the season). Over/Unders split 2-2 for the week, but Unders still lead 19-16-1 (54.3%).

NBA (ICYMI): With the Nuggets’ 108-95 win on Friday as 3-point road favorites in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Heat in the NBA Finals, faves improved to 3-1 SU and ATS in the series and lead 54-28 SU and 44-37-1 ATS (54.3%) overall with 1 game closing pick-’em. Home teams still lead 49-34 SU and 44-38-1 ATS (53.7%). Unders lead 3-1 in the series and took overall lead at 41-40-2. The zig-zag dipped to 2-1 ATS in the series and 37-30-1 ATS (55.2%) overall.

NHL (ICYMI): With the Golden Knights’ 3-2 win after closing as -116 road faves at the Panthers on Saturday to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals, faves lead 4-0 this round, but dogs still lead 43-40 in the playoffs with 4 PKs. Home teams dipped to 3-1 this round, but road teams improved to 47-40. Over/Unders dipped to 2-2 this round and 43-43-1 overall. The “zig-zag” improved to 2-1 in this round as VGK had lost the previous game and the zig-zag also improved to 41-31 overall.
