Thursday Betting Recaps

Thursday was getaway day for MLB teams as all 12 games ended mid-week series.
It was also a solid day for underdogs, especially as they started 3-0 with the earliest games, including the biggest upset of the day in the very first game with the Pirates hosting the Padres, and 4-1 overall (with the Yankees being the only exception the day after Domingo German’s perfect game as they beat the A’s 10-4 as -175 road chalk) before the night games started with the favorites going 4-3.

Let’s get to the MLB details in our betting recaps that we post every night on Twitter @ViewFromVegas, and also the season-long betting stats, plus USFL with its championship game coming up on Saturday.

MLB: Dogs went 7-5 with the biggest upsets by the Pirates (+170 in 5-4 win vs. the Padres) and Brewers (+169 in 3-2 win at the Mets). Road teams led 9-3. Over/Unders split 6-6. On the season, faves lead 696-499 with 20 games closing pick-’em. Home teams’ lead is down to 632-579 with 4 neutral-site games. Unders’ lead has also dipped to 588-577-49 with 1 no-action.

USFL (ICYMI): Favorites/Overs are 2-0 so far in the playoffs. Including the regular season, underdogs still lead 22-20 SU overall and 27-15 ATS (64.3%). Unders still hold slim lead at 22-19-1 (53.7%).
