Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Friday, July 7th:

Texas Rangers (-165, 10) at Washington Nationals

The Rangers are sending lefty Cody Bradford to the mound in this one, and this game has one of the highest totals on the board. So, while the Rangers are favored to come away with the win, the Nationals should do a little damage themselves. And one player on Washington that crushes lefties is Lane Thomas, which is why I’m taking him to go Over 1.5 total bases here.

This season, Thomas is batting .377 with a triple, eight doubles, seven homers and 21 RBIs against southpaws. His production against lefties has simply been outrageous, so I do think he’ll find a way to produce against Bradford. The only issue here is that Bradford doesn’t generally work deep in games. So, Thomas will only have one or two at-bats against him before facing the Texas bullpen. But either way, I like Thomas to come away with an extra base hit or a multi-hit performance here. He has also been productive against righties, so it’s not like he’ll be a zero once Bradford is out.

Bet: Thomas Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)

Cincinnati Reds at Milwaukee Brewers (-120, 7.5)

Andrew Abbott has only started six games for the Reds this season, but the lefty has been borderline unhittable. The 24-year-old is 4-0 with a 1.21 ERA since getting his shot in the bigs, and he has had at least eight strikeouts in each of his last three starts. Abbott has also had double-digit strikeouts in two of those starts, which is why I like him to go Over 7.5 in this one.

Abbott is a guy with nasty stuff and now faces a Brewers team that has the highest strikeout rate in the league against lefties. I think Milwaukee will have a lot of trouble dealing with his interesting delivery angles and nasty breaking pitches. Abbott doesn’t have an overpowering fastball, but he locates it well. However, his curveball and slider can be impossible to hit.

Bet: Abbott Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+115)

Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros (-115, 7.5)

Hunter Brown has been everything the Astros could have wanted this season, as the 24-year-old is 6-5 with a 3.76 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 91.0 innings of work. The righty is coming off a lousy start against the Rangers, as he gave up three earned runs and 10 hits in only 4.0 innings. However, Brown still was able to strike out six in that game, and that’s exactly what we need from him tonight.

Considering Brown can have off days and still reach tonight’s total, how can you not take him to hit the mark here? Brown has had at least six strikeouts in 10 of his 16 starts this year, and he has also done it in each of his last three outings. Brown also happens to be facing a Mariners team that has the second-highest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitching. With that said, this is a good matchup for the youngster to get back on track and turn in a great performance.

Bet: Brown Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-150)
