Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Friday, September 8th:

Arizona Diamondbacks (-120, 7.5) at Chicago Cubs

I’m going to lay quite a bit of juice with my pick in the Diamondbacks-Cubs game, as I’m taking Zac Gallen to issue Over 1.5 walks in this one. This season, the Cubs have the sixth-highest walk rate in baseball, so this is a team that can really work counts and make opposing pitchers uncomfortable. Gallen is also a pitcher that can occasionally get himself into trouble with walks, as he like to be aggressive in hunting strikeouts. The righty has had 11 starts this season in which he has had at least two walks, and seven of those 11 starts came on the road. Now, Gallen goes on the road and faces a red-hot Cubs team. So, I think he’ll have some trouble in this outing, even though the total is down at 7.5 in this one.

Bet: Gallen Over 1.5 Walks (-172)

New York Mets at Minnesota Twins (-115, 8.5)

Dallas Keuchel will be toeing the rubber for the Twins tonight, so this feels like a good opportunity to jump on a Mets hitter’s props. And seeing Pete Alonso at plus-money odds to go Over 1.5 total bases is really hard to turn down. Keuchel has had a few solid starts this year, but he has also given up at least five earned runs in two of his five outings. And the lefty generally just lacks any sort of intimidating pitches at this point in his career. That leads me to believe that Alonso will be looking forward to this matchup. The 28-year-old has had a trying year for New York, but he still has two triples, 15 doubles and 42 homers this season. Alonso can go for an extra base hit whenever he’s up there, and I think he’ll get one here.

Bet: Alonso Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants (-218, 8)

Ty Blach has been pretty solid for the Rockies recently, as he had allowed three or fewer earned runs in four consecutive starts before giving up five in his most recent outing. But most importantly, Blach has pitched at least 6.0 innings in three of his last five starts, and that’s huge heading into this one. The reason that’s so important is that Blach’s strikeout total is just 3.5 in a meeting with the Giants, who have one of the highest strikeout rates in baseball this season. And if Blach does end up coming close to 6.0 innings in this game, I find it very hard to believe he won’t have at least four strikeouts. I know Blach isn’t a high-strikeout pitcher, but this matchup has made lousy starters look like aces throughout the season.

Bet: Blach Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+130)
