Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays are giving Trey Yesavage his fifth career start, who has been masterful in his small sample size, with a 2.32 ERA and 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings. He now faces a Mariners lineup that is third in scoring on the road with 5.1 runs per game. The Blue Jays offense counters with the top overall offense since the All-Star Break at nearly 5.6 runs per game. They face Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert, who threw 34 pitches in Game Five of the American League Divisional Series against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. Gilbert posted a regular-season 3.44 ERA despite getting 11.9 strikeouts per nine innings due to allowing 1.4 home runs per nine innings. The bulk of his struggles have come on the road, posting a 4.74 ERA with 1.7 home runs per nine innings. He may not have a ton of length to give with pitching for the third time in seven days.

Picks: Blue Jays Moneyline -123 & Over 7.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Blue Jays -133 and Total 7.7)

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell has been masterful this season with three earned runs or fewer allowed in 12 of his 13 starts between the regular season and postseason. He has posted a 2.18 ERA and 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings. While Snell has only allowed three runs across 32 innings in his past five starts, he faces a Brewers lineup that, since the All-Star Break, is averaging 5.1 runs per game, which leads the National League. Quinn Priester is expected to get the start on the mound for Milwaukee. Priester had a 3.32 ERA during the regular season despite a 4.06 fielding independent with only 7.6 strikeouts per nine innings. He is coming off of allowing four runs in 2/3 an inning in Game Three of the National League Divisional Series against the Chicago Cubs. If Priester does not go, Jose Quintana will be priced similarly with his 3.96 ERA during the regular season.

Picks: Brewers Run Line +1.5 -130 and Over 7.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Brewers +1.5 -136 and Total 8.1)
