New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Yankees starting pitcher Max Fried enters in strong form, allowing a combined eight runs over his last eight starts while going at least six innings in all but one. Between the regular season and postseason, he holds a 2.77 ERA with 0.6 home runs and 2.4 walks per nine innings allowed. He faces a Blue Jays lineup that leads the American League in scoring since the All-Star Break with over 5.4 runs per game.

Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage makes just his fourth career start after cruising through the minor leagues. In his limited MLB sample, he owns a 3.21 ERA with 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings and no home runs allowed. He’ll face a Yankees offense that leads the league in overall scoring at 5.2 runs per game and in home runs.

Picks: Blue Jays Moneyline +137 and Under 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap: Blue Jays +123 and Total 7.7)

Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners

Mariners starting pitcher Luis Castillo owns a 3.54 ERA but has posted a career-low 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings. However, that ERA drops to 2.60 at home. The Tigers will counter with ace Tarik Skubal, who has a 2.18 ERA this season with 11.4 strikeouts and just 1.6 walks per nine innings. Both teams will look to get extended length from their starters after Game One went to extra innings.

Pick: Tigers Moneyline -125 and Over 6 Runs (Greg’s Handicap: Tigers -142 and Total 6.4)
