The Houston Astros have won the 2022 World Series four games to two over the Philadelphia Phillies … and Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale has cashed in on his large Astros futures.

The Astros entered the series as around a -180 favorite at sportsbooks, with the Phillies a +160 underdog.

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale had $10 million worth of futures bets on the Astros to win the Fall Classic, which would win an estimated $75 million. The largest of these was a $3 million bet on the Astros at 10-1 odds at Caesars Sportsbook, which was placed in Louisiana back in May. He also had a $1 million wager on the Astros at WynnBet at 12-1 odds and a $1 million wager at Betfred Sportsbook at 5-1 odds, among others.

The estimated $75 million is the largest payout ever in legal U.S. sports betting history.

Like most of his big wagers, this one is tied to a mattress promotion for his Gallery Furniture store in Houston. He said on a recent VSiN appearance that business was booming.

"We had the biggest day in store history on Sunday, and then did 25% better on Monday," Mack said on VSiN. "We busted through the $75 million in liability, so we’re done taking bets on the mattresses right now. The customers are excited and they’re saying ‘Go Astros.’"

Despite the large wager, Ken Fuchs, Head of Sports at Caesars Sportsbook, told VSiN that the sportsbook wasn’t concerned with the pending liability if Houston won.

"What can we say? We just wrote the biggest check in sports betting history to Mattress Mack for $30,000,000," Fuchs said in a statement on Saturday night after Houston won. "Would we do it all again? You bet. While Mack may have won this round on the field, we’re proud of how we teamed up to support first responders and military veterans in Houston, Philly, and Atlantic City. And to Mack – we tip our Astros cap – and remind him that he can now support his Texans and Rockets … both attractively priced at +100000 to win a championship. The Astros are also currently +550 to win next year’s Fall Classic."
